5.0 out of 5 stars h.e.a.v.y.s.o.u.n.d.s.
Simply put: an exemplary mix of deep, funky techno. Unlike many Fabric mixes of late, this sounds like a full-on club set, with no extraneous messing about, & is all the better for it. Dark & seductive, with an amazing low-end, it's the best Fabric mix I've heard in ages (a couple of years, in fact). Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Real Taste of Fabric Life
This mix is quite unique in the Fabric series, in that it doesn't sound like John Tejada was trying to present a mix cd, with a clear intro, build up, peak and finale. Rather, from the word go its as if you've walked into a club, where the music has already been going for some time, and you're catching an hour or so of what's playing in that room at Fabric. This is both...

This review is from: Fabric 44: John Tejada (Audio CD)
This mix is quite unique in the Fabric series, in that it doesn't sound like John Tejada was trying to present a mix cd, with a clear intro, build up, peak and finale. Rather, from the word go its as if you've walked into a club, where the music has already been going for some time, and you're catching an hour or so of what's playing in that room at Fabric. This is both the CD's strength and weakness; on the one hand, there's no stand out tracks that the set builds towards, or gentle easing into Tejada's more testing records. Its pretty 'In ya face', and feels almost like Tejada was playing what he was in the mood for at the moment he played them, rather than after a long period of awaiting approval to use the tracks for the release. Much of the set is techno/tech-house which is pretty high energy and seething in bleeps and abrupt sounds, which won't be to everyone's tastes. But it's unapologetic rawness makes it stand out and its this boldness that makes it a striking edition to the Fabric mix series.

I am a good fan of some proper good Techno and this was right up my alley. This CD has helped the fabric series alot because they can go a bit boring sometimes but this one like the Omar-S is TOP NOTCH dance. Being a fan of Richie Hawtin and Orbital and so on I like the techno deep, minimal, progressive and a bit twisted which this is. I am listening to is alot on my Ipod with my big Sennhiser headphones and this is just great. Yeaaaahhhh. I have to go and see him live now.

I have to say that when this first dropped through the old letter box I was in 2 minds what to expect. For the past few fabric release has been A real mixed bag. Ame and Mark Farina have been top draw, Luciano okay to good in places, Robert Hood was a let down and Metro Area utter camp disco tat!!! Have no fear tho as though as this gets back to fab Fabrics high standards. The mix is deep, melodic and even a bit electro techno in places. I have to say this was a sheer pleasure to listen to and the best way to kick the Jan Blues!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars I Agree, 7 Mar 2009
This review is from: Fabric 44: John Tejada (Audio CD)
I agree with the first reviewers comments, although I thought Robert Hoods mix was awesome..........But about this, excellent Tech/House, and what a delight to hear the Orbital track, I forgot how good it is and amazingly, for being an old track, the production is about the best on the CD..........so much for Plug-ins and Pro-Tools etc.
I think I played this solid for over a month after I got it, Top Quality....well done Fabric !
