5.0 out of 5 stars ..................<i'm speechless>
I picked this double-CD up at a small record shop in London; it's apparently a Japan-only import, but it is easily found on the net. If you're like me and loved Blur's 1997 self-titled album (most of the songs on this 2-CD set come from the album), check out this release for remixes and live versions.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just for fans
I got this while I was a committed fan, I have to say for a while it was one of my favourite albums. CD2 is a great compilation of live tracks, although it makes you hope for an actual live album, (not counting the 1996 import live album - 'Live in Budokan' ). The tracks were previously released as b-sides to the 'On Your Own' single and were recorded at John Peels' Peel...

The live disc contains excellent versions of Popscene, Song 2, On Your Own, and Chinese Bombs. I actually prefer the live versions to their studio counterparts (more energy).
The remix disc offers top-notch electronic remixes, though two versions of Death of a Party are a bit much. The remixes are well done (one in fact, done by Moby). They don't merely "drone on" but put the studio tracks in a new light. Put on your yellow-shaded glasses and pop these discs in -- good stuff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Remixes and live tracks, 29 April 2006

This review is from: Bustin'+dronin' (jpn) (Audio CD)
"Bustin + Dronin" compiles live tracks and remixes from Blurs' self-titled album. I have to admit that the remixes are a bit samey, but what really makes this album is CD two. Six tracks recorded at "Peel Acres" 8th May 1997 (not five tracks as the track listing on amazon tells you - the actual track list is 1: Popscene, 2:Song 2, 3:On your own, 4: Chinese bombs, 5:Movin'on and 6:M.O.R) just remind you what a good live band Blur are (were). The only disappointing thing is, while listening to the superb guitar work from Graham Coxon, that Blur may never sound like this again.

I got this while I was a committed fan, I have to say for a while it was one of my favourite albums. CD2 is a great compilation of live tracks, although it makes you hope for an actual live album, (not counting the 1996 import live album - 'Live in Budokan' ). The tracks were previously released as b-sides to the 'On Your Own' single and were recorded at John Peels' Peel Acres in May 1997.

CD1 is a mixed bag, the William Orbit remix of 'Movin' On' is great, along with the Moby mix of 'Beetlebum' (which is completely different from the Moby remix featured as a B-side of the 'MOR' single). But who wants three different mixes of 'Death Of The Party'? along with two of 'On Your Own'? As a companion to the 1997 album 'Blur' this release would have benefited from some more remixes of other tracks from the album.
Still, it has some strong points.
