I heard the recording of the Durufle Requiem on BBC Radio 3's The Choir and wanted to listen to it again. It is an interesting composition and not much played compared to the Faure Requiem. The sound balance leaves much to be desired in that the Organ part is incredibly quiet - a little too soft in my opinion. In fact the revised digitally enhanced recording is all together very quiet, that may have been deliberate on the part of Sir Philip Ledger but not so low one can barely hear it! Still the volume control still works and if you haven't heard Durufle before it is worth listening to.
