I recently bought Generation T and was recommended this book later on, so i bought it. I loved Generation T, but thought it lacked in actual 'tops' projects - but lots of other useful things.

This book fills the gap perfectly! It's very nicely laid out with pretty illustrations and simple easy instructions. The ideas are endless, I could never have imagined these, I'm no seamstress!! I can now rescue my favourite tshirts instead of throwing them out/giving them away when they shrink/go out of shape etc

If you are looking for a multitude of things you can make out of a tshirt, then start with Generation T. If you want to make just tops mainly, this is the one to go with, fantastic stuff!

I own quite a few up-cycling clothes books and I have to say, this one is in my top 5. I usually work from the Generation T books which are also fab but focus on alot of craft type projects involving things to make out of t-shirts. If you are looking for a book that just deals with altering t-shirts to make them look cool, then this is the book for you.

The instructions are clear and easy to follow, there's a section in the back to explain some of the stitches and methods used. I think my only fault with it would be that the drawings don't do it justice and maybe there should have been some actual photos.

Based on this book, I would definitely consider buying the others in the series.

This book is really well presented. All the designs are made from a basic high, round neck T-shirt. The designs are all very fashionable, original and well thought out. Each design is presented on two pages. The first page shows a sketch of the design. The second page gives the instructions. It gives time required and a rating for how easy it is to complete. Then there is easy to follow diagrams showing where to cut and where to sew or tie. Some designs don't even require any sewing...you just cut and tie. Lastly there is written instructions. All the instructions are VERY easy to follow. At the back of the book is a glossary. The only additional information I think would have been useful would have been to indicate the fit required of the initial T-shirt. i.e. tight/loose, but this is a minor issue and think it is only relevant if you are new to sewing.

This is a great book, not only can you copy the designs inside, you may also come up with some of your own designs and there is space to draw these in the back of the book. There are a lot of easy designs within the book. ENJOY!

I would have said you could rip half these designs out the book and set fire to them. Most of them it would be easier to cut them out of fabric and stitch them rather than faff around with a t-shirt that has seen better days (if we are talking the re purpose method which it is aimed at)

Quite a lot of them are not that wearable! There is a few helpful hints on cutting up old tees but most of these are freely available online

I doubt after being hacked up most of them would survive the washing machine either!

This book is fun and full of ideas. Although some of the styles are not for me, they provide food for thought and all the Tshirt variations are easy to achieve. Recommend pinning and/or tacking before cutting, neither of which which seems to be mentioned anywhere in the instructions, to ensure a good finish, but otherwise a great little book.

Although binding and sketches are nice, instructions are very basic and I wonder how the novice sewer's adapted T-shirts turn out but guess young people don't mind ending up with a probably grunge and frayed look! Not impressed...

Bought this as a gift for my daughter who has just finished a degree in Costume; she loves the book and can't wait to get stuck into transforming a T-shirt into something fashionable and sewing something purely for the fun of it!

These ideas are great, there's something for everyone. A great idea to alter band T-shirts that don't fit when they dont' have your size
