2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Gavin DeGraw is one of those artists who is a lot better then the music they end up making. DeGraw showed his obvious musical talent on the Chariot Stripped cd - creating a much more raw and real sound, as opposed to the glossed over, mainstream ready anthems found here. These songs are fine for a middle-of-the-road sing a long, but there are hundreds of artists out there...

"'cause the heart can't erase once it finds a place to be warm and welcome,
To be held in shelter" - lyrics from "In Love with a Girl"

Way back in 2003, I reported that Gavin DeGraw's debut CD Chariot was the best album you'd never heard of. Fast forward to 2008 to his second studio album, and although he's a lot more popular now, this is probably the best album you've heard only one song from.

That song is "In Love with a Girl", the first single, but by no means the only good track on the album. DeGraw's easy-listening melodies and simple arrangements make for timeless songs that will still be current in years to come.

This very talented young man writes his own songs, and also plays piano and guitar, and I strongly encourage you to check out the following songs.

Next to You (Wait a Minute Sister)
Cheated on me
Young Love
She Holds a Key
Untamed
Let it Go

Not that the other tracks aren't extremely good, but these are the ones that stand out, and the ones I think are single-worthy. There are no filler tracks on this album, which can be listened to anytime, anywhere and often. I rather think that DeGraw's time under the radar is coming to an end.

Also recommended for Maroon 5 and Jason Mraz fans.

Having seen Gavin in concert in 2006 I had been eagerly anticipating his new album, and so jumped at the chance of buying the import so i could hear it faster. I was not disappointed. All the songs have you singing along after listening though the cd just once. Gavin fans will love this and so will anyone that likes someone that can sing and a good tune.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best album of 2008, 27 July 2008

This is the absolute must have album of 2008. In his follow up to his debut album Chariot, Gavin does it again, with his catchy rock/pop songs, starting off with his US single 'In Love With A Girl', but there is no duff songs on this album, and my personal fave 'We Belong Together' (just play this to your loved one !!).

I've been lucky to have this album for the last couple of month's (brought the US version via Amazon.com), and it's been virtually non-stop on my Walkman !!!
