5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Sony Bravia KDL26L4000U 26" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview This Tv is perfect for my requirements. I hesitated a lot between this and the 32 size which has higher specs and is cheaper (amazing) and has rave reviews. However I dont really want a TV that is too big to carry and I really dont like the 'piano black' that a lot of other models have. This TV has a...

2.0 out of 5 stars poor service
After one year and two weeks the tv developed a shut down fault---never,never contact the Sony help line--you wait 15 minutes and then get fobbed of by a lady in Wales who would be better off with a spinning wheel---Amazon simply passed the buck on to the supplier. My tv man declared that Sony provide the worst service of any major tv manufacturer--i agree .As a nation we...

This TV has a sophisticated matt black (a bit glossy) finish which is perfect for watching films with the lights lowered, the matt finish becaomes part of the shadows. I understand 'piano black' is difficult to keep clean too. Its OK for a young family or a couple perhaps who need a big TV as a centrepiece but I want mine to be a bit less obstrusive. I note too that the 'subtitle' function is easy to access. I was worried it might have inferior performance because the contrast ration is half (15000) that of the V series (including the 32 size which is cheaper). But i needn't have worried. It really is a lovely Tv, easy to handle. A doddle to set up. the design is lovely too, all black except the thin silver line at the bottom. Very classy. thanks Sony and Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant quality television, 21 Jan 2009
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL26L4000U 26" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview (Electronics)
I hesitated for a few weeks before buying this TV and was trying to decide between this Sony and a Panasonic. I eventually went for the Sony as reviews told me that picture and sound quality were better.

I have only been using this television for one week now but I can say that I am delighted with it. The picture was great to start with - but I did choose to adjust colour intensity and sharpness slightly (nice that I can do that) and it is superb now. Available sound volume is plenty for me - and I am deaf. I found it easy to set up and use, although I have a few minor gripes about the design of the remote control. All in all a great TV - which I would recommend to anyone. Looks sexy too!

Superb picture quality, excellent sound and the usual sturdy Sony build.

My only gripe is that there isn't a short-cut on the remote control unit to quickly activate/de-activate sub-titles without going through the lengthy menu. However, this cannot detract from a very worthy 5-star rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, 10 Mar 2009
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL26L4000U 26" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview (Electronics)
Ideal for smaller houses or flats as screen not too large. Colour is fantastic and TV looks and is quality. Easy set up and works with sky remote so no need for multiple remotes hanging around. Would recommend to anyone looking to purchase a high quality LCD TV.

As well as performing brilliantly with a great picture what marks the Sony Bravias out is the simplicity and efficiency of their control systems. The Freeview operation works superbly and the TV's processing power means that channel changing and the other controls work so fast.

I've got Virgin cable and have decided to give it up - because the Virgin box is so much slower than the Bravia.

The set-up is simple and fast. Everything just feels "quality"

A fantastic product at a great price.

I bought this TV as a monitor for my PC, and as a TV it's great, makes the room into a proper multimedia centre.

Rate this 5 stars. Easy to set up. Picture sharp and clear with good colours and skin-tones. Initially I had trouble with digital auto-search. The tuner only found a few programmes and only played back 3 or 4. I didn't have this trouble with other devices. The aerial socket was part of a house distribution system which gave a good signal, analogue and digital, to my existing TVs and DVD recorder. It seems that this distributed signal was not strong enough for the Sony. Eventually I by-passed the aerial distribution system and connected the aerial straight into the Sony. This has solved the problem. The Sony is now performing excellently. As to the rest of the house.....
