4.0 out of 5 stars Very good album
I've been listening to the lesser albums recently which I have neglected for some time. This is the best of the later albums by a very long way. It's a solid collection of well written songs. It doesn't matter that there aren't any hit songs. It's a fan's album and 10cc have done an excellent job in producing a very consistent work. 24 Hours is superb but there are quite...

3.0 out of 5 stars good album
Although 10cc will not be remembered for this album, it is a good one, with clever lyrics, and some very good tunes, especially 24 Hours. I advise anyone who buys this album, listen to 24 hours a few good times, cos it is a grower. Once you had heard it a few times, you will soon realise it is one of the best songs 10cc ever did. If it one thing this album lacks is a song...

24 Hours is superb but there are quite a few others to choose from. Most bands would give anything to produce an album this good so I'm happy to give it a 4. I'd like to give a 5 but it does fall short of the achievements of the earlier albums. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Almost Last, 17 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought the 1983 album Windows In The Jungle by 10cc,This is an album that was under-rated when it was released and contained some of the best songs that were composed by the duo. Highlights include, 24 Hours, Americana Panorama, Working Girls & Taxi!Taxi!, if more people would hear these songs I think they'd be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the music that the band created, even though it wasn't a hit. Have a listen and enjoy some of the best 10cc songs, Ever

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price for a great album, 24 Sep 2014

A truly 10cc album. Brings back the early eighties into focus once again. Whilst this is not strictly a singles album. It holds together very well as a collective. Having owned a few of their albums in the past, this does stand the test of time very well as a complete set of songs. The additional tracks are bonus for those who may only have these on vinyl. Having been watching for its UK digital release for some time now. It is a welcome purchase. I can now dispose of the chrome cassette, which sadly got a little mangled in the car.
A Great album indeed.

10cc were chart history by the time they made this album; they blew it on 1980's 'Look Hear', although the next generation of pop fans were looking for something new anyway. 'Windows In The Jungle' is, however, not the work of a band going through the motions. Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman retained some of the old band but concentrated once more on their own material. Perhaps more surprisingly, 'Windows' suggests that they were striving more for something as ambitious as Godley and Creme's 'Une Nuit A Paris' rather than an album of potential hits.

Both '24 Hours' and 'Taxi! Taxi!' are around eight minutes long. The former depicts a day in the rat race, a sort of 'Dark Side Of The Moon' writ small and, of course, not as dark. The single, 'Feel The Love', might have made a dent in the charts a few years earlier; it was yet another tilt at a reggae-inspired song. The other, shorter tracks also show Stewart and Gouldman still buoyant and this disc comes with a generous helping of bonus tracks although most of it is familiar material, 'The Secret Life Of Henry' being the most interesting of the bunch. This album is well worth acquiring if you like any of the post Godley and Creme music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Underated..., 27 April 2013
This is 10cc's most underated album with plenty of variety if lacking a 'hit' single. 24 hours and Americana Panamara stand out tracks for me. When oh when will this be re-issued as an affordable CD??
