5.0 out of 5 stars McWicked, McWonderful, McJazzy McFerrin at his best!, 3 Aug. 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Bobby Mcferrin (Audio CD)
This album is truly worth buying, whether you are a Bobby fan or not. It has a mixture of A Capella and 'backed' tracks, ranging from the incredibly laid-back "You've really Got a Hold on Me", to the wild and wonderful "Chicken" and "All Feets must dance". This is an early album, but one that really shows off both Bobby's versatility as a vocalist and creative ability as a Master of Jazz. MAKE IT PART OF YOUR COLLECTION!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mcferrin's Debut and his best!, 24 April 2014
This review is from: Bobby Mcferrin (Audio CD)
I bought this on Vinyl after seeing Bobby perform at the Capital Radio Jazz festival 1982. There he performed with Dizzy Gillespie & Chico Freeman in some extended scatting solo's , Wow!

This album is full of varied tunes showing Bobby's talent off to it's fullest. Classics such as Dance with me, You've really got a hold on me and a superb version of Van Morrison's Moondance are stand out tracks. Then there are beautiful tracks such as Horace silvers Peace and McFerrin's Sightless Bird. Other tracks demonstrate his unique style ( Jubilee and Chicken) which he would develop on future albums such as "The Voice".

Although I generally prefer My Jazz in a more instrumental vein, this is my favourite vocal album of all time and still sounds timeless today.

Highly Recommended.
