Well, this appears to be the last-gasp Lewis release and worthy of note if only for that...except it's well worth noting apart from that too. Lewis is far too creative to just replicate the studio versions and each track is a variation from the versions you have heard before - some more subtle than others. Even Lewis' phrasing/delivery of familiar lines gives different nuances than the versions from Stoned US/Stoned part 1/Stoned part 2. Throw Me A Line is one of the heaviest things he's done here, and Morning Light piles on a psychedelic hue driven by an organ taking refuge from Woodstock it seems. Shame is mellow right until it melts down in guitar even fierier than the Part 1 version. Wonder if LT had tired of 'soul' (as if he could be tied to one genre) when he hit the session studio for this.

Can't find any info on the session and not sure if this release was approved by Lewis or if he just couldn't stop its release, but in any case, it's well worth a couple of quids of your money to round out your collection. My only gripe? That there is not a CD version...
