Well written and acted, with breathtaking scenery. Nice to see new drama on tv which has ordinary people as protagonists, doing ordinary jobs but is still funny and sad and watchable and not a cop or hospital show. And it had such innocence about it, you could buy it for your grandmother (if she doesn't mind a little lavatorial humour).

The best drama produced in 2008, brilliantly acted and directed. Bernard Hill was exceptional as the Grandfather. The supporting cast were excellent, especially the child actor. The writers achieved the right amount of comedy and pathos. Looking forward to their next offering as everything they have submitted in the past has been superb

I watched the tv series on BBC1 and loved every second. I had been looking forward to it as an avid Craig Cash fan (Early Doors still the best sitcom to have graced our screens). Sunshine did not disappoint. I laughed and cried (a lot!) and loved all the characters, especially the wonderful Bernard Hill's Grandad. Buy this - you won't regret it.

Excellent drama/ comedy from the pens of Craig Cash and Phil Mealey (Royles/Early Doors etc.) what a good laugh with pinches of pathos thrown in. Saw it first time on TV and had to have the dvd version. Bernard Hill as always is superb. oh, and did I mention Steve Coogan? He's in it as well...brilliant - in all it is a brilliant series with a cast too match!Sunshine [DVD] [2008]

I know this series is a few years old but I have only just discovered it.
I am a great fan on Cash/Mealy partnership,Early Doors for me is up there as one of the funniest things ever put on the telly. You will see a lot of the Early Doors cast in this also, however I was more intruiged that Steve Coogan was in it as usually I can take or leave him.I loved Paul Calf but hated Alan Partridge so I was interested to see how this would pan out.
All I can say is after watching this frightfully short series I am a firm Coogan fan now.He really can act.
For anyone who knows somebody who likes a 'flutter' or ten on the nags this show presents in a non patronising way the devastation and heartache gambling can cause if not kept under control.
Lisa Millett and Bernard Hill and the young actor who plays the son Joe are outstanding.I laughed and cried in equal amounts and at times wanted to strangle Bing [Coogan]for his stupidness.I understand why it was only 3 episodes long as this is truly a quality over quantity scenario.
If you have not seen this before do yourself a favour and get it.You will need hankies and the final scene of episode 3 will deffo finish you off.

Beautiful, Wonderful, funny, Heart-Warming, tearful, all rolled into one. Steve Coogan who plays a bin-man who has a bad gambling addiction, and when it gets out of control it then start's to effect his family life, with his wife loosing her patients, this is when he has to change his life, or can he?.

There is a funny scene when he has been coned by a local bookmaker, and when coogan finds out he and his two work colleague's get revenge, by tipping the contents of there bin lorry all over his car, I also loved the relationship between the granddad and his grandson, it's a shame not all can be the same, and I must say the young lad can act. This is a Wonderful program which moved me to tears.

This program shows the true talent of Craig Cash(the royal family) with him being the director, writer, Exective Producer, this is one talented man, the best show he has done for me was early doors, which if you haven't seen it, then it's a must.

this movie is an excellent family veiwer,or for any one over the age of 16,full of laughts and a few tears, but well put together, and acted by all the cast, most actors you will recognise from other comedy series,in my opininon this three part series on one dvd is top rated for a night in,i watched it because one of my residents in the shelterd housing in wich we live appears as an extra, but i was sorry then to have missed it on tv a few years ago. so out and buy it now,you wont be dissapointed,Dennis
