Classic Media presents "THE LONE RANGER: 75TH ANNIVERSARY - SEASON ONE AND TWO" (15 September 1949) (1900 mins/In Glorious Black & White) (Collectors Edition) (digitally remastered in Dolby) -- A record 221 episodes were filmed between 1949 and 1955 - 182 in B&W and 39 in color --- Now the complete Seasons 1 & 2 of the original TV Series (78 Episodes) -- Over 1900 minutes on 12 Discs --- In the beginning, six Texas Rangers led by Captain Dan Reid in search of a bunch of outlaws known as the Cavendish gang are ambushed at Bryant's Gap --- All of the Rangers are shot and left for dead --- A Mohawk Indian, Tonto, comes upon the massacre and discovers one Lone Ranger still alive --- Tonto carries the seriously wounded man to a cave and nurses him back to health --- John Reid, the surviving ranger, tells his story to Tonto, and later tears a piece of black material from his dead brother Dan Reid's vest and makes a mask which enabled him to hide his identity and to pose as an outlaw to get near the gang --- Later, Reid and Tonto learn most of the outlaws had been hanged or imprisoned --- To symbolize the massacre at Bryant's Gap, The Lone Ranger never removed his mask and continued to pursue outlaws and defend justice every week with his faithful Indian companion Tonto, his equally faithful steed Silver, and his legendary silver bullets, never fired in anger --- we all know very well that Tonto and the Ranger are very good friends and saddle partners --- Clayton Moore once stated he loved Jay Silverheels like a Brother -- and that my friends is a real hero!

I am seldom disapointed with All Your music/Classic Media, and boy have they excelled themselves here. Of course I haven't viewed all the episodes yet, but I know what they will be like. This is more about the outstanding extras, booklets, memorabilia, I've never seen anything like it. It all comes in a strong cardboard box (and quickly too considering it's from the states), and the info contained is really interesting (to this nostalia buff)> Excellent Value for Money, and the prints I've seen are mint. You just cannot go wrong, although I will repeat - I have only had time to see 2 eps. One tiny quibble, and I feel awful having any, but the individual disc packaging makes it quite difficult to get them out, and I worried I might damage them. This is an amazing treat, so if in doubt, don't worry. You won't regret this purchase.

You will admire all the care that wes taken with this box set. This wonderful collection is Region 1, NTSC. The films take me back with a smile. Was it really 50 years ago? Well worth buying. Steve

Having just watched all episodes on this Box Set some 2years after purchasing!!!! can highly recommend
this superb set in terms of picture quality and content.
The series is particularly nostalgic to those who saw its original broadcast on Television in the 1950s.
Apart from Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels, there are good supporting roles from guest actors i.e Lane
Bradford, John Douchette, Glenn Strange and many other regular faces as "bad guys" in the series.
Its a good idea not too watch too many episodes at the one time, as the adaptations from the radio scripts
tend to have similar type storylines ie Bank/ Gold Mine/ Stagecoach robberies, nevertheless they are still
entertaining to watch.
Yes the series was made very much on a budget using stock outdoor footage re used every few episodes. You
soon get to know the favourite spots the camera man used for horses and stagecoach chasing!!!
Well worth also reading Clayton Moore's Autobiography "I Was That Masked Man" for an insight into the
productions themselves and Hollywood movie scene 1940s/ 50s.

The Lone Ranger: 75th Anniversary-Seasons 1-2. This box set contains: 12 region *one discs + one bonus disc. Plus MANY none disc content extras.
An absolute top notch product. Outstanding. Brilliant. All the other reviewers have said it all so I'll not repeat, except to confirm the film (full frame) to dvd transfer is very good indeed, both vision and sound. I've not yet found any mark either on the discs or anywhere to indicate a region code but I can confirm they ARE region *one discs.
I'd strongly recommend to buy this box set. You'll not be disappointed.

First class in every sense! I certainly give it 5 stars because the transfer is sharp and clean. Secondly, it comes in a strong box and with an informative booklet and the special features are good too. They have excelled themselves with this (as one other reviewer has stated), giving the complete first and second seasons.Although I have received other excellent quality box sets, there are also 'so called' complete sets that have been edited, had the original soundtrack replaced by new music and offered in split seasons. This is unacceptable for nostalgic completists, and so companies should take note of what the public want and the example of this excellent box set. I highly recommend this.

Yesss and they are Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels, both fine actors, and no matter how many reboots/remakes Hollywood do, it wont be the same, this series 1 and 2 boxset with all the other goodies was amazing, i already have s5 and the two films and this box set stands proud with both of them, only one question, does anyone know where I can get seasons 3 and 4 to complete the collection
