I have found this paint fab! Seeing so many negative reviews for magnetic paint I did a lot of research before i parted with my cash. I found this paint really easy to use and worked after my first application. The more preparation you put in the better the results will be. So, my local B&Q put the paint in their machine & shook it up for me, this is vital to get a good mix. I also stirred it for a few minutes once home. You need to use a foam roller, don't use any other type, as this gives a really clean finish and make sure you put on in thin layers. The tin says to reapply after 24 hours but i put on three coats in one day. I didn't need so many coats as magnets stuck after the first application but i wanted to be sure. Also, not all general fridge magnets will stick so you need to use rare earth magnets, these work best. I have a wall in my kitchen where I stick up my sons pictures etc and it looks great!

I found this paint very difficult to use, it took a lot of mixing and splattered everywhere when using.
It went on the wall in thick clumps not smooth at all and I will probablly have to sand down before I can paint over the top, then I hope it will still do its job.

A bit of a let down, as quite an expensive product

What an absolutely brilliant idea, shame it does,nt work,, Have tried to create a notice board in the office..
Attempt No 1 Coverage was only 50% of what it said on the tin, never mind sanded it down, bought a second tin and gave a second coat. In theory 4 magnetic pins will hold a thin piece of A4 paper on the wall but only when the window is closed as the slightest breeze will send your papers flying.
Attempt 2 Still think this is an amazing idea so have another go on another wall, this time on a different surface, and this time we put an undercoat of PVA on the wall first to reduce the soak in. The coverage was slightly better but the results were the same... quite useless!! Basically this product does the exact opposite of what it says on the can! Do not waste your money

I used this paint to create a magnetic play wall in my toddlers bedroom and he loves it. I used two coats of the paint and had to use two coats of emulsion to cover it but it still works....although I am not using it to hold paper through a magnet, just magnetic letters/numbers

This works well as a magnet board, although it took quite a few coats of white paint to cover over it. But I'd recommend using it in a really well ventilated area as the fumes for a few days when it was drying were really strong

Having read the other reviews I was reticent about this paint but as I didn't want a cork board in our study I decided to take a risk. I marked out a large rectangle with frog tape and painted on 4 layers (the litre can easily did four coats on an area 1.5 Sqm). The paint did take a lot of stirrring before use and does give a roughish finish but small round magnets easily hold paper, photos and postcards and the result looks really good.
