5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, 20 Jan 2011

This scope is fantastic. This is my second scope and the views are far superior to my Celesron 130mm EQ. You get a lot of power for your money and can easily see detail on Jupiter and fantastic views of deep sky objects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Search the stars with real power at a good price, 22 Jun 2012

This scope is an excellent item and for the price it's remarkable .

The scope takes a little time to put together but quite easy to do so.

The eye pieces that come with the scope are ok but I would suggest the Celestron eye piece kit with a 2x Barlow some filters , 6mm etc ... A must for some good viewing of planets.

As with any scope don't expect to see excellent detail as soon as you set it up for night viewing !! You need to allow the inside of the scope to cool down to the same temperature as outside , it shouldn't take more that 20 mins with the dust Capp off.
The scopes finder is very good but does not have a right angle viewer so you may get a sore neck :( so might be worth updateing once you get used to the scope.

Now onto what you can see :), you get a good view of Jupiter and its moons, Jupiter is so clear on a nice cold night and you can see its bands . Both Venus and mars are very nice but again depending how clear the air and atmosphere is.

I'm still learning my self but this scope is excellent and well worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Telescope of first timers onwards, 9 Jan 2013
This review is from: SkyWatcher Skyliner-200P/1200 Classic Telescope (Electronics)
This is a great machine - taking it out of the box it looks like you spent 5000 on it you may need to prove just how good the value was to your other half. Jupitor comes up magic, just today I was looking at the rings of saturn. The orion nebula comes up excelent.

Dont worry about light polution as I am in a city and some night I look up with the naked eye and cant see anything - looking through the telescope and bang the universe is your ostyer.
