3.0 out of 5 stars no german audio track
nice box, but in my opinion the hd quality could be better. and although it is told on the cover that there is a german audiotrack - there is not. would be nice if amazon posted the available and correct data, especially concerning audio and subtitles.

Ce sont bien les voix "françaises" (pas canadiennes quoi) et au final, en dehors des jaquettes en anglais, ce sont exactement les mêmes blu-ray que ceux vendus en France / Belgique. Aucun soucis sur ma PS3 belge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality and effects, 25 Jul 2009
I brought this for my partner as we had just purchased a blu-ray player. I have not seen the DVD/film before, but when I did I was wowed by the technical effects. We compared the blu-ray with the normal DVD and WOW!!! The close ups of the faces, warts and all was amazing, the clarity was superb and every detail was there.

The actual film kept me in suspense and wanting more. The action shots are something else and the story line is captivating. I also like Mr Reeves, he's one smooth guy. If you enjoy loads of guns, special effects and quick action, this is a great buy. Matrix has been out for a while now, but blu-ray on a large format screen takes some beating.

2.0 out of 5 stars About the Blu-ray Quality, 2 April 2009
I'm not reviewing this based on the Movies as they're excellent IMO, but on the quality of the blu-ray conversion to HD 1080p.

Using a PS3, 5.1 Surround Sound, and a 42" Samsung I was unable to see any noticeable picture quality improvement over the upscaled DVD release which was very disappointing. The ascetics of the three movies means there's lots of blur & film grain so having this converted into HD is pointless. I'd have give this set a 0-Star rating if possible based off just the picture quality.

Now where this set does shine are the extras. The picture-in-picture commentary is excellent, being both informative & enjoyable. It has saved this set from getting immediately resold.

In short, not worth the money for the movies as the DVD are just as good, but if you want some really good extras then maybe worth the cash.

3.0 out of 5 stars Money for old rope? Three times?, 9 Nov 2009

Everyone has seen this trilogy... Haven't they??? Well if you haven't, watch it in Blu-Ray High Definition as it looks marvellous but to be fair, it also looked pretty much the same on DVD... As an addition to the Blu-Ray collection, I'm well pleased as it sits with the Harry Potters and Pirates of the Caribbean as a "Haven't seen this in ages" type film (Just so happened to be on ITV2 at the same time I bought it!!!) and will be watched once... Will be a while before it sees the laser in my PS3 again...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Deal (compare to the US version), 14 Aug 2009

I was going to buy the US version of Ultimate Matrix Collection (5 disc) but then I found this UK version which is way cheaper and works great (since it is for all region) and as you know it doesn't have the NTSC/PAL problem since I am using HDMI anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better on Blue Ray, 22 May 2009
I think everyone has seen all of these films. In our home we have the first on video and the other two on DVD, which I thought that Some scenes if I remember were a little difficult to fully see detail. Now we have a new HD TV, blue Ray player, we thought we would give the blu ray versions a go.

This is a must have in my book, it clears it all up, IE: the Rain scene Between NEO and agent Smith plus many other scenes too.

I enjoyed these movies all over again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can Blu-ray be too much detail?, 18 Dec 2008

I have to say I was not sure whether or not to give this 4 or 5 stars, so decided to go for 4. The transfer and sound are excellent and some of the special effects are truly stunning when watched again on full HD. The price is excellent as well, less than £10 per disc. On the downside however is that due to the increased quality, I actually noticed the CGI a lot more than when I originally watched it on a CRT TV and DVD. The fight sequences with Agent Smith and Mr Anderson are the ones that stand out the most, and left me wondering a little as to whether or not I wanted to see all these floors. As to the movies themselves, the first was a breakthrough and was one of the best movies I have ever seen at the cinema, however as with many follow ups, the second and third movies were not quite up to the same standard, and sometimes they felt like they were trying to over complicate the plot on occasions to mess with your mind. These are the reasons for me that make this 4 and not 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars A HD boxset not to be missed, 19 Aug 2008
By Simon Donald "thugernomics666" (Scotland, Montrose) - See all my reviews

I own the HD DVD equivilent so have a good basis for my review.
Im not sure if there will be any differences in extras but the three films in HD are very impressive. All the iconic scenes from the original (the lobby scene and rooftop bullet dodge) to the epicness of the 2nd and 3rd, look amazing.
There already amazing films and with an entry value of £35 on blu ray it works out a bargain (HD DVD entry was around £50)

5.0 out of 5 stars Re: Subtitles???, 21 Oct 2008
Hi Ros,

The American 6 disc version has the following soundtracks:
English-Portuguese-Spanish-Italian-French.
Subtitles:
English-French-Spanish-Dutch(lucky me)-Italian-Portuguese.

The 3-disc UK version has English sound & subtitling only.

Thought I'd let you know, as I know that many Croatians are good at Italian!
If not, don't fret, I'm sure there'll be a multi language Euro version next year...
