Good pans, great lids, rubbish handles, and over-priced
on 15 May 2013
Firstly, these are good-looking pans, and for some people that's probably important. But they are also considerably deeper than standard, and with dual pouring edges/lips, they might not be to everyone's taste.
The lids are particularly good in terms of appearance, however, the design makes it impossible to rest them at an angle, so that boiling over can be a problem. I guess that will depend on how low your hob goes.
Finally, the handles are just plain awful. Without a doubt, the worst I have ever encountered...
They are about an inch too short, however, they are also angular and hollow underneath, and when you combine these three flaws the result is extremely uncomfortable. It's amazing to me that anything so badly designed could ever make it into production.
These pans were a gift, were they not I would have sent them straight back based on the awful handles alone. I cannot emphasise enough just how bad the handles are - you've been warned. Oh yes, at £70 they are definitely over-priced, even ignoring handle issues.
