This is a good gun, it has very interesting features like flip up sight, laser light and the interchangeable parts. The cocking mechanism is VERY easy to use, you just pull back and forward. The customizable extensions add an interesting element to the gun and you can do lots of combinations. If you have a raider cs-35 get this gun because you can use the drum barrel and you can exchange parts which would be great for a nerf war. You can also do this with the longshot cs-6.

Before i start educational? Please its not a book!

First it very sturdy ( unlike the raider ) : I've dropped it down stairs and on gravel no dents.
Not much jamming : Unlike other nerf guns it doesnt chew up the darts.

Overall its very good but the scope and light suck i usualy just use the main gun with the stock on so its easier to reload.

I got this gun because all my friends were playing with it. I'm very glad I did get it. It's the most realistic gun I've ever seen!! The way you take out and load the clip and fire is wicked. It is bolt action (you have to cock to load) and pretty powerful; it shoots about 30-35ft. It's barrel, stock, laser targeter and agustable sight are detachable so you can personalise the gun how you like.

It jams occasionally but is easily sorted.

In the bottom of the handle there is a secret bullet compartment in you run out of ammo( I've lost all 6 of my bullets).

Overall a great buy that everyone can enjoy

i bought two of these guns and thought they would be ok,by the sounds of the reviews. But it actually turn out very good!
The bullets only get jammed if you put too many in or because you use bent bullets. Great fun with red dot (especially in the dark) and easy the take apart. If you have Maverick or long shot you can take apart the recon and put stuff on them.
I recommend buying extra ammo very small easy too lose.

This is a good all-round gun for close to medium range battles. The extra accessories look really cool on the gun but are completely useless, unless you are willing to modify the dart blaster. Overall, I can recommend buying this product if you want a fairly decent toy blaster or are just new to the game of nerf. If you are ever thinking about modifying this blaster (even though it specifically says not to) do not replace the spring as this is likely to put strain on the plunger and in time brake the gun: as what happened to me.

When this gun is put together it looks very impressive - 27.5" long (12.5" long without the barrel and stock attachment).

The gun comes in a few pieces - pistol, optical sight, barrel, stock, clip and darts and torch attachment. These can be snapped together easily in lots of different ways to make new guns and looks. Parts from other Nerf recon toys can be snapped onto this toy too (and vice-versa!)

It fires normal nerf darts and has the ability to load them into a clip (a clip holds 6 darts easily but an extra dart can be squeezed in too if you don't mind compressing the darts slightly). This makes for fun as you can have more than one clip loaded so you can keep firing longer.

The gun is well made and sturdy. The light attachment is a red LED light that can be focused into a small dot for targeting help or wide to help see in the dark. It's a nice feature and I'm surprised at some of the other posters negative comments about it. It's a toy gun after all and the light/spot works great in the dark.

I've posted a little video here to help those posters (and people thinking of getting this toy) who have had problems getting the clip to eject easily. The gun has a few interlocking pieces inside to stop the clip dropping out, one you read the instructions and figure it out then it's easy. Saying that I still wrestled with it for 5 mins myself before the penny dropped!

All in all this is a great toy. It's quite big when all the bits are snapped together and quite accurate up to about 20 feet.

I've marked it a 1/5 for educational value as it's a gun but this scored big in everything else.

I bought this for my son and he keeps on saying the darts jam and he has to take them all out and try to pull them out with his hands. He had other nerf guns before and says there much better apparently the nerf alpha trooper cs - 18 is miles better.

This is a very go nerf gun. It can fire at a range of up to 20m and is collapsable which makes it portable which allows diffarent looks such as hand gun and machine gun (I found out that if you take the barrle of the gun off then it's darts will go further and faster but having poorer accuracy).

I have rated it 5 star for durabilaty because it is very strong and stable for a plastic gun. Although you would probaly still break it if you through on the floor!

However, I only rated it 1 star for education. This is because it is a gun, not a dictionary.

I have rated 5 star for fun because it is very good at shooting long distaces so that I can get my brother when we are playing in the garden. It would make more sence for the clip to take 8 darts instead of 7.

Over all, I rate this 5 star. Perfect for ages 8-25.

this nerf gun is my 2nd out of my n-strike collection.
this gun is the only one i know where you can take off the barrel,
coes with 6 clip darts and one magazine clip!
i recommend this gun for anyone! (except for little kids, darts might be found in their digestive system!)

This sought after toy was only available to me at the time on amazon where a prompt service was given. The darts are extremely safe yet are propelled a sufficiently far distance to reach any targets. Combinations of guns and quality of build appears to be sound and sturdy enough to last some time before any problems will arise.
