5.0 out of 5 stars Great value
I am new to photography and so no expert, but from what I can see this is extremely light and very well made. It even comes with its own carrying bag. Not for the professional as it is so light, but for any keen amateur it is ridiculously good value!

3.0 out of 5 stars "Lightweight" tripod. OK for emergencies
The box / site says it extends to 130cm. It doesn't. It's at least 10cm less than that. Box says it has a geared centre column. It doesn't. Says the tension on legs can be adjusted. I suppose it can in a sense; loose and wobbly or rigid open!

Also, make sure there's no breeze blowing or it will be sent flying. It's very flimsy and lightweight. OK for taking on...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value, 23 Nov 2011

This review is from: Konig Lightweight Aluminum Camera Camcorder Tripod (Accessory)
I ordered this along with a digital camera for a project that I am working on. As my budget for the project is very small, I needed to search for the keenest prices. When I ordered the Tripod I had little expectation that it would be so good. I was really impressed. For the money, it is excellent value. It is light and easy to carry around. An important factor for me as I am travelling to lots of different venues to film for this project. I only wish all the other equipment that I need to take with me was so light and compact. Although I have only just started using this, it seems quite robust. It is extremely easy to assemble and use. The carry case is an added benefit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice tripod, 23 Nov 2011
This review is from: Konig Lightweight Aluminum Camera Camcorder Tripod (Accessory)
This is a well balanced, lightweight tripod.
It is reasonably stable and holds my Olympus camera without any problem.
The head is fine (although a little fiddly to attach to the camera) and has a good range of movement and is easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, 17 Oct 2011

Great Value for money - Lightweight so good for holidays, extends to a good height and fits my Panasonic Lumix fine. Comes with useful carry case. Good Starter kit, but probably not suitable for professional heavy use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good cheap lightweight tripod, 27 July 2011
This review is from: Konig Lightweight Aluminum Camera Camcorder Tripod (Accessory)
This tripod is a bargin for the price. It is extremly lightweight which is exactly what i wanted for travelling about. Comes with a nice carry cases too. The screw in mechanism is a little bit fiddly but the camera feels secure and is very easy to move round. The legs come out easily although occationly they but up a bit of a struggle to get them back in. Haven't had it too long so not sure how long it will last but for the price im very happy with the purchase and would definitely buy another one. This is ideal for amature photographers on a budget who want a lightweight tripod.

The star rating is based on the price (under 8 quid delivered) - for this price it doesn't make much sense to compare it against tripods costing several times the price. The downsides - flimsy, not great build quality, may topple over in anything above a light breeze! The plus sides - it's fine for indoor photo or video use or outside when there is little or no wind. It's better than no tripod. It costs less than 8 pounds delivered.

With the above caveats in mind, if you are on a a budget this is still worth getting as a very lightweight take anywhere tripod and at least if it gets damaged/broken it's not a major loss, as long as your camera doesn't suffer the same fate! I use this with compact system cameras (micro four thirds/ Nex) and a compact camera, so cannot comment on how it will handle the weight of something heavier like a dslr with a long lens.

I am keeping this Konig as a take anywhere/ just in case cheap tripod but have also now spent a bit more (60 quid or so) on something a lot better (Slik Sprint Pro II) which will be my main tripod, but still light enough to carry on hikes etc. When funds allow I may also splash out on something bigger, sturdier, heavier and more expensive for when I don't need to carry it around a lot - have narrowed it down to the Manfrotto 190X PROB, Manfrotto 055X PROB or the Slik Pro 700DX.

If you are on a very tight budget and will not use a tripod very often (or just want something basic for use indoors etc) then the Konig is fine, given the very low price. If you can stretch to 35 pounds or so and don't mind a bit of extra weight, then I would look at something like the Hama Traveller Compact Pro Tripod - which will give you a more solid bit of kit with more features (hook, spiked feet, padded upper legs etc). But if you want a top quality rock solid tripod that will last you for years of regular use, then spending 8 pounds or even 35 pounds is probably not going to give you that and you may need to rethink your budget and revise it up to 100 pounds plus! But if you just want a basic platform for a camera, for use in non-challenging conditions, then for less than a tenner the Konig will do the job - just be realistic about what you are going to get for that kind of money and don't expect too much. :)

Very light and suitable for modern lightweight cameras. Nice carrying case and will suit most people other than enthusiasts but very good value for money would certainly recommend.

The item arrived one day before expected which is good. It's also really light and high so it's perfect for recording videos or taking pictures. It fits my camera perfectly, you can also turn it if you want it landscape or portrait and you can move it from side to side in a 360º angle. It has three legs which are expandible up to 1.30cm which is a good height. Really pleased with the tripod. Oh, it came with its case aswell and really well packed.
