4.0 out of 5 stars Solid cabinet, high gloss.
Received this cabinet in the day by courier, my wife assembled it before I got home to help as I knew it was heavy and would need two people. She said it was straight forward to put together, her only gripe was the high gloss finish where it finishes had some small chips and showed the chip board/wood underneath, these were mainly at the back used a black marker pen to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but beware of limitations
Possitive points are that it is very solid and stable and looks very smart when a large gloss black tv rests on the top. The door is very welcome when small children would want to press buttons and fiddle with any controls on your av equipment.
Negative points are that it took some time to put together and the back panel needed to be trimmed down to fit. The back...

The back appears to be gloss black plastic but is MDF painted in gloss black.
The door will only close if the top shelf equipment is only about half the height available, otherwise the door will collide with your DVD player unless you can slide it back on the shelf. This can make manual opperations more difficult than you would normally want to put up with on a regular basis.

Received this cabinet in the day by courier, my wife assembled it before I got home to help as I knew it was heavy and would need two people. She said it was straight forward to put together, her only gripe was the high gloss finish where it finishes had some small chips and showed the chip board/wood underneath, these were mainly at the back used a black marker pen to cover these up. The door at the front works very well it lifts up on and slides right back in to the cabinet, which is good as I have a center speaker on the top shelf when playing DVD's. The shelf is adjustable you put dowels in the holes, there are three levels. So if you have AV equipment you can put these on the bottom. The cabinet is well vented at the back it has big oval slots all the way from top to the bottom right accross the back, so you can also put plugs through the back at any level without any fuss. It looks more expensive when put with a black gloss Flat panel TV like my Panasonic 42" looks fansatic. The remotes do work through the clear glass door when closed for all my eqipment. My wifes only bug bear is it picks up all the dust with the TV but just rub it with antistatic wipes/like bounce works well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant cabinet, 16 Sep 2010
This review is from: Techlink Overture - Designer Stand For LCD & Plasma TV Up To 50" - Black Gloss Finish With Clear Glass (Electronics)
I really love this stand, it looks great in the black gloss finish and goes well with our other dark wood furniture.

I took ages comparing different stands and cabinets, looking for some with two seperate adjustable shelves rather than just one and considering space, etc.

But this is perfect I've got a ps3, sky box and a big amp which has a Height of 176mm and it fits them all easily with space left over for a load of dvds and cds if you wish. It is well ventilated as well the amp I have gets really hot, but there is sufficient ventilation for it. There are 3 adjustable heights for the shelf to sit on.

It is true that the sliding door of the stand will clash with items on the top shelf depending on how you set up the adjustable shelves, but as I described it's not a problem, just don't put the shelf at the heighest point and attempt to put an amp there.

Other than that my only gripe is it definitely requires 2 people to set it up as the parts are very heavy. But considering a sony stand I assembled in the past, this was easy.

Also, I was concerned by other reviews in the past stating the stand arrived damaged, but I think Amazon have sorted this out as it was well packaged with card and plastic wrapping and was also monitored by amazon with calls before and after arrival.

Another thing I like about this stand is the height, it's quite a tall stand compared to others in the market.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really solid product, 12 July 2009
This review is from: Techlink Overture - Designer Stand For LCD & Plasma TV Up To 50" - Black Gloss Finish With Clear Glass (Electronics)
This cabinet looks really solid and stylish under a black TV. Easy to build and plenty of room for equipment and cabling. Heavy to move and the one advantage missing might be castors rather than the basic feet provided. Still a good buy.
