This is an unnecessary compilation not approved by the band. Radiohead's record deal with EMI has expired and EMI is cashing in by releasing tracks from their six EMI LPs. Politics aside, I strongly recommend buying the individual albums and skipping this compilation. All the albums are cohesive wholes, and savouring them from start to finish takes the experience to a new level. Start with The Bends or OK Computer: these two masterpieces dominate the compilation and are only *£4* each on Amazon! All the "best of" songs are of course very good, but there is no unity or flow to this compilation and it does not represent value for money.

This is essentially an unofficial album. Radiohead specifically stated that they did not want a 'Best of' album. EMI ignored this sentiment. As such this compilation is merely 'some songs by Radiohead'. If you want an entry point, get OK Computer or the Bends. Don't support EMI's capitalising on art.

This album is a dumb selection of tracks allied to some cheap packaging. When Radiohead left Emi they instantly rereleased all their albums (expensively) with extra tracks. But none of it has been remastered, and there is no new information to go with it, no interesting informative booklet.
Basically it drives me crazy that they haven't even put all their singles on here - where's 'Pop Is Dead'? But really, it looks like a bit of a cheap cash-in by Emi, and you have to hope that one day they'll lovingly remaster everything and do an a-sides and b-sides of their singles type of thing...

Of course there should be a best of collection. Why shouldn't a record company cash in their investment? This is business after all! You sign the record deal and you play by the rules. I'm sure the multi-millionaires of the band dont want this release. No doubt they'll go on about artistic integrity. I bet they welcomed the deal initially.
As for the collection...it seems to include the best bits, leaving out the all the boring stuff. Personally, i dont play the Radiohead CD's anymore, they have dated badly. I'll try to sell them and buy this instead.
