This is the original Documentary based on the story of the rape and Murder of transexual Brandon Teena in Nebraska 1993. Many of you may have already heard of this story from the movie "Boys Dont Cry". I bought this dvd because i am intrested in Brandon and his life and having already seen the film i was very intrested in seeing the original Documentary as well. This documentary has interviews with Brandons Mother, his past girlfriends, and his killers John Lotter and Brandon Teena, which i found a little hard to watch, it details the trials of the two killers and also takes a look back at Brandons life and his childhood and who he was before he died.
Being a Girl who likes living as a boy myself, i can identify with Brandon a lot, however this documentary didnt really tell me anything new, it does have lots of details about him but it's mostly a look at his death and the lives of the other people around him.
If you want to know more about Brandon then you should buy this Documentary but i would advise you to see Boys Dont Cry first to get the basic details of his life, if you're really interested in him then the Book all She Wanted By Aphrodite Jones is also a must have.
Brandon is my hero, i hope that these films and books can give his death some meaning. His life was taken too soon and i hope that people will see these films and remember him for who he really was.
