Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was recommended to us by a friend,the cover does'nt do the film any favours,and after the first 15 minutes i thought we had bought a duff film, then wow! it grabbed us. i will write the description from the rear of the dvd as none is written on amazons page:Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a sweet tale of friendship and love. Rahul (shahrukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol) are inseparable friends at college. unknown to Rahul Anjali is in love with him who inturn falls head over heels in love for a new student Tina (Rani Mukherji). when Anjali learns the truth, she is heart broken and leaves college. In the meantime Rahul and Tina get married. Nine years have now passed and Rahul is a Single parent after Tinas death. What has become of Anjali? what is Rahuls daughter upto? Who is Aman? the plot unravels in a dramatic climax and alls well that ends well. I can only say that this film is fabulous and well worth watching, it now ranks as one of our favourite of all films and its only our second " bollywood" film. The actors, after a slow start, engage you and you feel the whole journey, its normal for me to shead a tear at the end of a really good film, and im not ashamed to admit it! but its a first for me to shead them at many points during the film!

This was my very first Bollywood movie and it is a great movie. It is bothfunny and sad, it will make you laugh and it will make you cry. For me, itbrings back so many memories of Secondary School, all those six years ago.It is a film that can be seen by the whole family, like most Hindi movies.There are no scenes where you need to cover your childs' eyes or anythinglike that. It is clean and pure, as love is. It is simply a must see filmand if you are a Bollywood fan, this must be added to your collection.- Cinzia

Gorgeous,
This review is from: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai [VHS] [1998] (VHS Tape)
I defy anyone to do anything but totally fall in love with this movie. Within the first few minutes I was crying then laughing and that pretty much sums up the whole film. It is impossible to watch the movie without feeling the love it exudes. As my first Hindi film it totally opened a whole new genre to me and I have not looked back since. The simple story of the strength of 'first love' after years of seperation is embellished with song, dance and humour to make it the spectacular feel-good movie that it is. The two lead characters play with such a passion and an innocence that you cannot fail to fall for their charms. And as for the little girl - she breathes even more life into a film that is already shouting 'I'M ALIVE'. Yes, you have to expect cheese, multiple 'funky' costume changes and the most catchy theme tune on the planet but it will leave you feeling so good that you'll keep watching it over and over again. I cannot recommend this highly enough!!

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has all you can ask for: A graet love story, great songs and music, suspence, romance, it will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and it has the top Indian movie stars: Shahruk khan, Salman kahn and Kajul (who is stunning). So for 3 hours of a great time (if Indian movies are your kick), go see this movie.{The best place to see this movie is in India (it's an interactive experiance there.)}

Yes, something, something happens...!,
This review is from: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai [VHS] [1998] (VHS Tape)
Dear Readers & Ms Neelam,My review consists of ideas and thoughts I acquired when I watched the movie. The movie itself is very 'charming' and delicate. The characters portrayed an atmosphere of love and kindness, the roles of the actors and actresses was complimentary, although I feel more humour should have been directed as it is a family film. Tailored to the film were young and old, and both were witty and enjoyable to watch. The film is very entertaining and a love story to watch, and a proper family film.

This review is from: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) (Romantic Bollywood Movie / Indian Cinema / Hindi Film / DVD) [NTSC] (DVD)
A fantastic film with a fantastic sound track. This film has it all the location the songs and a great storyline and not to mention the stunning actresses in their figure hugging saries. Shah Ruk Khan and Kajol compliment each other perfectly as they normaly do. The film also introduces Rani Mukerjee as the other love interest of Shah Ruk Khan and with that sexy voice of hers she nearly made me drop my samosa! This film has to be seen!

I think the plot for this is well described by other reviewers. I just want to add weight to the high rating and say that we found this one a solid entertainer. The actors are very good (you can't go past Shahrukh, Kajol, Rani as the core trio (also Salman Khan). I cared about the characters and got hooked into the emotion of the script.Definitely a good one to catch if you like Bollywoods. It is about the connection between young people, romance and the usual Bollywood playing with your emotions. Even though the movie is getting older I think it is standing to test of time reasonably well. Recommended.

A well contrasted, college love story with plentiful glamour, which brings tears to your eyes, because of the brilliant acting. Shahrukh Khan does it again! The way the story is told....past and present. Funny, sad and serious! Not like any other Indian film. Every song in the film highly recognised. You can watch the film over and over again and I promise you will laugh and never get borred. Well worth the money paid for it. 'kuch kuch hota hai' means 'when something happens' - after this film when people asked lovers how they felt, LOVERS would reply 'kuch kuch hota hai.'
