I bought this because my previous pillow had become so flat it provided no support at all, and I was getting neck ache. There is a chemical smell as soon as you take it out of the packaging, but I just left it outside on the airer for a few hours and it has been fine since then. I have to admit that initially I was disappointed with this pillow as although I expected it to be firm, it really is very very firm, not even remotely soft for your head to sink in to. My husband tried it but found it too hard, he said he would knock himself out on it! I wouldn't go that far, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Having said that, I've persevered for a few nights and it is starting to feel more comfortable. I can't decide if I like it or not, but the one brilliant thing in its favour is that it holds my head at exactly the right height when I lie on my side, so that I don't wake with neckache at all. Hence the 4 stars, because I think the softness issue is a matter of preference only.

For some time I had been trying to find a pillow for my partner to help remedy her neck and back pain. At the mention of "memory foam pillow", she was most enthusiastic, so I searched around for a while before settling on the SilentNight Impress Comfort Core Memory Foam Pillow.

We both envisaged something firm yet soft, which one could sink one's head into.

However, this pillow is not soft. It is very firm. Your head does not sink into it and it is not particularly comfortable to sleep on. Therefore, my partner did not use it for long enough for me to be able to speculate as to whether or not is has a positive effect on bodily aches and pains.

I'll be brutally honest - I slept on it myself for a night or two and my sleep was far from terrible, although my head did feel unnaturally elevated. If you sleep only on your side, your head and neck feel well supported, but if you like sleeping on your back or your front, you should definitely avoid this product.

I would just like to complain about the pillows. I am not happy with the product, because it does not feel or do as a normal memory foam pillow should. The foam is not a whole molded unit, but small pieces placed together in a cover. This defeats the object of a memory foam product. It does not form to the contour of my head and is too hard. Because it does not mold to the contours of your head, it stays too high.
I have had and still do have a memory foam pillow which I bought 5 years ago. It is fantastic, it forms to my head and is very comfortable. The reason for this is because it a a whole formed piece of foam, not hundreds of little pieces.
I was impressed by the reviews your product got and this is why I bought it. I cant believe the people whom bought the same pillows are satisfied with it.
I am sorry that your product is a great disappointment to me, but I was expecting at minimum a pillow that is the same as if not better than what I have been used to, from my old memory foam pillow.Don't waist your money on a pillow that is made from off cuts.

This is a really lovely pillow and much better than the pre-shaped ones in my opinion. This is the second of these pillows I have bought for my husband and he loves it. I love the new cover they have put on as it's a bit thicker than the last one. I hope they keep making them as he can't sleep without it.

Bought this pillow after continually waking with a stiff neck. Found it difficult to get used to at first as it seemed unnaturally high and when changing position, the dent from your head would still be there from the way you were positioned previously making the pillow feel strange.

However.. persevered for a few nights and now wouldn't be without it. Getting a fantastic nights sleep, very comfortable and no stiff necks since - would recommend!

Takes a few nights to get used to it, but very quickly I came to love this pillow. It gives really good support and doesn't get too warm even when the weather's hot. It is very firm (which I love) so it won't suit everyone, but if you want to give your neck and shoulders a good night's slip then I highly recommend it. Also it does fit standard pillow cases, which I gather from comments on Amazon that most of these memory foam pillows do not.

I bought this item and tell the true that is different than I expected.
The feeling is not like a classic foam, most likely like a small pieces
of mooving sand. But is not bad! 5***** from me!

If you like your pillows firm and I do mean firm, you'll love this. I have suffered from a bad back for years and I've been searching for my perfect pillow and I think this is it. It may not be for everyone as it is very firm and thick. I usually sleep with 2 pillows and I've replaced them both with just this one. It works for me.

I've had one of these for a while and am just purchasing another for my partner as he keeps trying to steal mine!

It took a few days to get used to as it is high and quite firm compared to a normal pillow but since then, I have been sleeping better than I had in years (even on a Sunday night!)and don't have such problems with neck ache either.

I tend to sleep on my side but find the pillow comfortable on my back too and also great as a support pillow if sitting up in bed.

After a while, say if you wake in the night and change positions, the dent where your head has been can feel strange and it can feel a little flat compared to what you are used to. However, because this pillow is not contoured, you can just turn it over (upside down and top to bottom) and it feels plump and very supportive again with that added fresh-pillow feel!

Also, it did NOT smell when I first got it, which I have read can be a problem with memory foam.

The cover is great and makes the pillow feel top-quality, even though it's reasonable priced compared to some on the market.

I love it and now always try to take it away with me as I can't sleep so well without it!
