An amazing album where every song is as good as the last, Dave Monks American indie voice gives their sound a real querky ness

TPC are a great band I loved the rocky sound, and pace with the thoughtful lyrics. I am no 'musicographist' but if you want a rocky, but indie infused blend of cool music then these guys are for you. A lot more tunes and a longer album than their first (A lesson in Crime - worth buying though) and I would recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent debut album, 1 May 2008

When listening to this album it's easy to pick out the influences on this band. They move from Bloc Party-esque guitar and drums to Editors high pitched echoing lead guitar in another. However, one thing that is truly distinctive is lead singer and bassist Dave Monks' voice. I'm fairly sure it's not meant to be that high but it really works!

With catchy riffs, excellent drums and Dave's crystal clear voice, it's a great combination. If you are a fan of Bloc Party/Editors/Snowden you may well enjoy this album.

Best song on the album for me is "Tessellate" which has one of the catchiest piano riffs around. It craves a massive chorus to go along with the brilliant verses but just doesn't quite get there. A bit of a disappointment but doesn't hold back the album at all.

Other great songs on the album are the Editors influenced "Sixties Remake" and also "Your English is Good".

Great debut album from an interesting band: here's hoping they go far.

This really is an amazing album, it really is! Nearly every song on the album is incredibly catchy. If you think you might have even the slightest interest in this band, just buy the album, you wont regret it!
