I travel very regularly and the only carriers from my airport are low cost so I ALWAY have the pre-flight luggage weight stress. That was until I discovered these wonderful scales. They are easy to use - you just clip them around the handle, pick up the luggage, wait for the beep (3 secs) and the weight is recorded. I have found that they are accurate to within about 0.2 of the airport scales.

I highly recommend these - buy them you won't be disappointed!

Concept is great. I've been using "springy" scales before which are always ~1-2kg out so thought I'd splash out a bit more for these digital (more accurate) ones.

First thing I noticed when the item arrived, is it did not have a calibration weight and could not be calibrated as given in Amazon's description for this item.

This became even more important when I needed to use the item 3 weeks later on the eve of packing for a flight. When I took the scales out it showed "out-0" on the LCD and could not be used. I called Balanzza and they were surprised that it would show this without any load and suggested the item was faulty and to return it to Amazon for a refund as it was calibrated before leaving the factory and the error message should only show up if weighing more than 44kg and certainly not when the item wasn't being used.

I still believe in the product and so will be buying another one but just wanted to warn people to check their item a few days before so that you can get a replacement in time if needed but hopefully, judging by the number of 5 star ratings, this is a rare occurence.

I'll never forget standing at a check-in desk, about 300 impatient holiday makers in the queue behind me, being told that my luggage was over weight and I'd have to pay £7.50 per kilo. The embarrassment of trying to redistribute the excess with an ever increasing amount of tutting, sighing & foot tapping from the irritable throng behind, was an experience I swore there and then I'd never endure again.

So when I saw Digital Luggage Scales I knew they were for me. They arrived promptly after ordering and I was pleasantly surprised to find they came equipped with the necessary batteries.

I imagined that there would be some sort of time consuming setting up procedure to go through (as most things with digital in the name seem to require), but to my relief, it was just simply plug and weigh. Plug in the batteries and you're away.

Using the scale is simplicity itself and it is compact enough to take along, so the return journey can be just as check-in friendly as the outbound. I can't recommend this product highly enough, so simple and user friendly.

My days of standing on the bathroom scale struggling to see the readout flicking back and forth and thankfully over and I now stride up to the check-in desk full of confidence that it is no longer going to be me causing the huge backlog of impatient travellers.

Previous reviews sum things up pretty well. Simple to use. The fact that the weight is displayed after putting the item down is a great improvement over using conventional spring balance and attempting to read it 'loaded'.
When I first used it I had the peculiar experience of the scale displaying exactly the same weight for a bag twice, but when I removed items the weight actually increased!!
I've used it again since, over a number of days, and now the weight remains consistent. I can only put it down to the scale 'setting down'.
Airport scales confirmed the accuracy of the Balanzza Scale. My home measurement gave 19.7kg and the airport scales 20.0kg. I don't think that is a significant difference. Also no recurrence of the bag being heavier after items removed.

Hi purchased these luggage scales recently for a holiday to orlando florida.They were absolutely brilliant,very easy to use and accurate.We used them on the journey home to make sure we were not carrying too much hold or hand luggage, which in todays climate where air carriers are eager to screw every penny from passengers for excess luggage they were invaluable

A little bit bulky (hence only 4 stars) but simple to use and does exactly what it is meant to.

I PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT 3 DAYS BEFORE I WENT ON HOLIDAY AS I WAS GOING WITH A NO FRILLS AIRLINE AND THEY WANTED £10 PER KILO EXCESS BAGGAGE. AS I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD I TEND TO TAKE TOO MANY THINGS WITH US AND END UP OVER WEIGHT AT THE CHECKIN EVERY TIME. WHEN I SEEN THIS ITEM I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE IT A TRY AND I AM GLAD I DID, NO MORE EXCESS BAGGAGE CHARGES FOR ME. IT IS SO SIMPLE TO USE AND YOU CAN TAKE IT WITH YOU FOR YOUR RETURN JOURNEY (JUST REMOVE THE BATTERY) IT IS SO SMALL AND COMPACT IT TAKES UP NO ROOM AT ALL.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE AND IT WILL HAVE PAID FOR ITSELF IN NO TIME WITH THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU SPEND IF YOU HAVE EXCESS BAGGAGE, AND LETS FACE IT WITH THE CLIMATE THE WAY IT IS AT THE MOMENT THE AIRLINES ARE LOOKING FOR ANY EXCUSE TO PULL IN MORE FUNDS (MAINLY AT OUR EXPENSE)

This is a brilliant piece of kit every time i go abroad i have that thought in the back of my mind when i get to the airport of if the suitcases myself and my family are carrying are too heavy resulting in more expense.I never thought about purchasing a luggage suitcase scale until a few days ago a wise decision thanks for the quick delivery also you put some mail order catalogues to shame thanks.

These scales are a doddle to use - don't be put off by the lengthy instructions - you just get it out of the box, remove the plastic strip to activate the batteries - which it says aren't included! - and off you go. That easy. And it does have an on/off button, so no problems.

My parents have this device - what a great gadget. Given the amount charged by airlines for excess luggage, this is a wonderful device to save headaches and money at the check-in desk.

Easy to use - just connect to luggage. I really like the 'beep' system for accuracy - sometimes it is difficult to weight bags as they swing around and hit your legs making reading scales tricky. With this device you can put the bag down and then take the reading. Works with lb and kg. TIP - to save the batteries, just put a small bit of plastic to one of the connectors to stop the flow and break the circuit - that way you won't use the batteries unnecessarily but the batteries can remain in their compartment for when you need to use them!

My only criticism is that it is a bit bulky if you planned to take it away on your travels to weight all those souvenirs you will buy!
