This is the last of the books between the Spriderwick Chronicles and the Beyond Spiderwick trilogy. It is a guide for Care and Showing of Sprites, endorsed by the International Sprite League. There is an illustration of each species and a symbol key for habitat, locomotion, disposition and additional traits.

The sections are:
The Magnificent Sprite
Anatomy of a Sprite
Selecting your Sprite
Obtaining your Sprite
What's Not a Sprite
Sexing your Sprite (not what you think)
Housing Your Sprite
Proper Nutrition for Your Growing Sprite
Sprite Accessories
Grooming Your Sprite
Illnesses of Sprites
The Many Moods of Your Sprites
Keeping Multiple Sprites
Reintroducing Your Sprite Into the Wild
Showing Your Sprite
International Sprite League Mission Statement

The original website for the International Sprite League website appears to be abandoned so the Games, downloads and videos referenced at the back of the book are no longer available. But there is a website with some similar content. For fans of the Spiderwick books this one will give some more insight and adventure if you're the young and young at heart.

SUPERB!!! Any spiderwick fan will be out of their skin when they see this beauty. As usually the book and its illustrations are crafted with amazing detail and skill. They text has it's wonderful humour we've all come to love, and once again you find yourself lost in the world of faeries! The poster is brilliant too! Simply stunning!

I just cant wait for the next set of books, and the movie to be released!!!

All thanks to the amazing T. DiTerlizzi and H. Black! Magicians with words and ink!

i loved the artwork and the extra glow-in-the-dark poster was a wonderful addition!
i'd prefer it quite bigger size but that's ok!
great colours also!
i highly recommend this book to fantasy art enthusiasts!

My daughter loves the Spiderwick series, and although this is a spin off, rather like a beastiary, so no continuation of the story, it is still a worthy addition to the books. The books are based on the Fieldguide of Arthur Spiderwick, a man who saw fairies and sprites and captured their images and his impressions in a book. The books follow three children who find out about his world and get embroiled in a series of adventures. Low on text and heavy on illustration they are bite sized adventures which are perfect for those children transitioning from picture books to more adult fiction. This book is beautifully drawn and the quality of production is high. The pull out poster is lovely and worth framing, and the book is quirky and compelling. It is rather expensive compared to the rest of the books, but this is probably down to the detail and care of production.

A very nice addition to the other books in the series. Wish it was longer and had more sprites in it.
