Sold by Argos as the TriStar,

This review is from: SLx Gold 28101R 2 Way Plug-Through Amplifier (Electronics)
This TV signal booster is made by Philex and sold as the SLx and TriStar amp. My super duper LG 42" TV has a freeview tuner built in however it would not pickup all of the freeview channels despite having a brand new Ariel fitted the week before the switchover. My Freeview recorder picking up all of the channels from the same coax lead. I added this amplifier and my TV now gets all 85 of the freeview channels with high picture quality. It also has the advantage of having surge protection and a pass through socket so I now plug the 5 gang extension into the amp to get spike protection. In addition it will also warn you if any of your cables have a short between the outer braid and inner core via an LED. From my experience this amplifier works (52 to 85 channels say's so)and the extra features make it very good value.

Chose this as it didnt mean I would lose a plug socket behind my TV. Works fine and keeps my digital TV signal solid whereas it used to freeze before.

Easy to plug in and play. It does what it says on the tin and amplifies the signal well particularly on the free view radio where the signal was very poor
