These recordings for the BBC are well worth investing in.From three seperate gigs with the most recent being 1998,plus a couple of studio recordings done at Maida Vale for Andy Kershaw's radio programme. A selection of BB classics live and with BBC recording quality has got to be a must.If your a fan of the bluesmaster you will already have these songs but its still worth getting because in concert the band are just so good and really tight BB in top form throughout and obviously enjoying every second and his credits and comments all add to the experience. His live version of U2's When Love Comes To Town is a highlight as is one of my personal favourites of his When It All Comes Down.Every song is a blues classic and when you think he was already in his seventies when the 1998 set was recorded he was and is still full of hard hitting rhythms and he speaks and plays a song he'd recorded with a very well known rap artist.BB has always kept in touch with what is happening in modern music and this CD prooves it.If you've never had a BB record then this is a fabulous place to begin and at such a great price.I saw BB on his final British tour two years back and he was awesome and still so full of life and energy where his music is concerned.Even today now in his 80's he's still keeping up a solid touring schedule in the USA.So get this, enjoy it treasure the music of the greatest bluesman alive and without doubt one of the greatest artistes of all time,at such a great value release you can't lose but you'll gain so much listening to this wonderful man doing what he does best playing his blues in concert.

I bought this along with B.B. King & Friends - 80 after seeing him live at Birmingham recently. Although Friends 80 is good, this is definitely the better of the two - I was listening to it while driving to Nottingham yesterday and my heart was singing. It includes some of his chat and it's a wonderful souvenir of a live concert wherever that may have been.

Live albums by KIng aren't too hard to come by and some of them (like Live at the Regal) are among his best. Now, despite this being compiled from four shows, you can add this to the list.

Spanning 1978-89, B is in fine form throughout as he engages with the audience, talking to them, getting them to join in, singing superbly -King is more in the vein of Blues Shouter, though he can tone it down when he needs to- and playing the most delicious Blues guitar. There are 14 tracks with a running time of 79 minutes and consist of some of his most famous songs. Particularly good is his solo version of his collaboration with U2 "When Love Comes To Town" where he rocks the house to its foundations.

It doesn't get much better than this.

This CD is almost like a BB King documentary in the way it spans 20 or 30 years of his career amd each moment is perfection. He plays Lucille like nobody else possibly could and is on top form for all tracks. BUY IT.

Does what it says in the can. BB King at the BBC and live. My personal favourite is Stormy Monday Blues, but there are many (14) tracks, or songs as they used to be known as, to choose from. Buy this, it is by the King of the Blues after all. pdw

I recently reviewed Eric Clapton's "just one night" live recording, and BB's "Live at the BBC" is on a par hence the 5 star rating. This marriage between BB and Lucille just gets stronger as time passes. If you are a BB fan then this live recording is a must have for the collection, and if you are buying your first BB recording then this is a good place to start.
