My wife & I suffered many sleepless nights because of our baby son's insomnia: pacing around the bedroom with him perched on my shoulder or rocking his cradle until his eyes closed; only to find him wide awake when the rocking stopped or when we gently placed him in his cot - and tired babies always make sure that no-one else sleeps if they can't!
Now our son has a daughter of his own and we eagerly anticipated payback ... unfortunately his partner discovered 'Sleepytime Lullabies' and our granddaughter is asleep within minutes - there is no justice! How I wish that this product was available 25 years ago - I might have retained more of my hair (& sanity).
The 10 - 15 minutes duration of each CD is long & varied enough to gently lull a fractious child to sleep & reduce stress for a harrassed parent. Anything which successfully promotes such harmony is worthy of fulsome praise: 'Sleepytime Lullabies' is an excellent bedtime collection which I would recommend to any household with an infant.

This delightfull, cd is an absolute must for any carers of small children. I have soothed my grand daughter on her over night stays, and am now buying another copy for my son's newly expected arival.

I couldn't help getting my hopes up when I read all the rave reviews, that my six month old might find this CD so soperific he'd not wake me up so much in the night, but instead he listens for a bit then rolls over and smiles - 'no I'm not going to sleep mum'. However I like it so I don't feel too hard done by. It can be useful to time how long I'm feeding him for (ie I'll stop at the end of this song etc). Mind you Skye Boat Song is completely stuck in my head - could be worse!

My 18 month old is one of those children that finds it hard to wind down and will keep going, and going, like the energiser bunny until he's hysterical. He's not been very well recently and his sleeping has gone to pot, so I brought the mp3 album after reading the wonderful reviews on Amazon. I've been using it as a sleep cue for nap time (they do this at his nursery)for the past few days, and after 3 or 4 tracks he's fast asleep. I'm going to start using as part of his bedtime routine as soon as he's better, so hopefully it will work equally as well. My favourite song is Sky Boat, so I've been starting with that one and it seems to get his attention better rather than Ragtime?

Happy sleeping!

These wonderful, soothing lullabies have worked a miracle on a lively, buzzy baby that just thrives without sleep! My best friend is a marvellous mum but she has been frazzled since the birth of her third child eight months ago. This healthy, fun-loving child doesn't seem to need to sleep and has been wearing down his poor mum and dad. They're teachers and experienced parents but every strategy has failed in getting their baby son to sleep. His happy shouting in the small hours wakes his siblings too. I searched the internet, found this double CD and bought it for them. The results were immediate and the impact on the whole family is amazing. The baby seems to get to sleep by about Track 3 or 4 and on the one night when he awoke at 4.15, his dad played these beautiful lullabies and off he went again. My friend is looking ten years younger and they are relieved and grateful to have found a method that does the trick. The lullabies are sweet, the singer's voice is lovely and she delivers them with such tenderness, you can only guess that she must be a great mum herself. The musicianship and arrangements are first class - my friend played me part of another lullaby CD she'd been given and it was pretty shoddy stuff by comparison. I would recommend this to any parent but also, it has turned out to be the best gift I could have given.

As a sometimes harassed single Dad of two little boys, may I thoroughly recommend Nicola Kerr's Sleepytime lullabies. This beautiful production has an almost hypnotic soothing effect, eventually coaxing the children towards sleep, and joy of joys- it works! Thank you so much.

Well it certainly works ! It lulled all the children to sleep not just the baby. There is a very grateful Mum in the West. Mids.
The voice is truly beautiful which is an added bonus for the adults listening

Sleepytime Lullabies is my must have purchase for all new mums, I have recommended it so many times!

It's incredibly effective - I used the programme to get my baby boy into a routine at around 3 months. My baby is now 9 months old and I couldn't be without it when he's ill or anxious in any way and has trouble getting to sleep.

I even bought a copy for my son's nursery after lending them mine to help him settle in - when they put the CD on they were delighted when all of the babies fell asleep together and slept soundly as a result!

The lullabies are beautiful and I never tire of listening to them. The CD goes everywhere with us - always packed into our case when we go on holiday!

I can't rate this CD highly enough. Before buying this CD my 3 month old son could only be put down to sleep if he had been rocked in my arms for 30 minutes. Not wanting a bad habit to develop, I bought this CD to try and encourage a more independent sleeping pattern. For the last 10 days we have been using this CD for both the lunchtime nap and evening sleep. By the second song he is asleep, by the third he is down in his bed. We then leave the room leaving him to listen to the rest of the CD on his own. Although there are two CDs, my son prefers the first one, so this is all we use. The singer's voice is beautiful and we love the songs. This has been one of our best buys.
