5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous piece of kit
Mine only arrived yesterday so this is more about the build quality, putting it together etc than how it performs. I'll update this in a month or so. However, last night I managed to put it together in about an hour by myself. Now, I'm a complete duffus when it comes to DIY but even I found it a cinch. Positive points: this is a solid bit of kit, as someone else has said, and it is very quiet.

Mine only arrived yesterday so this is more about the build quality, putting it together etc than how it performs. I'll update this in a month or so. However, last night I managed to put it together in about an hour by myself. Now, I'm a complete duffus when it comes to DIY but even I found it a cinch. It really is one of the easiest "flat packs" I've ever come across. When necessary they have labelled parts "Left" or "Right" and even colour coded the stickers so you just cannot get it the wrong way around. Little things like the guide saying "PS: We recommend you put the right one on first". You wonder why until you are half-way through and you suddenly realise how helpful they are being.

Once together, it is a huge, heavy, solid piece of kit. But the tiny space it folds up into is astonishing. My wife was mightily impressed (relieved) and, despite it's weight, folding the deck up doesn't require Geoff Capes to be on hand - although I doubt my 89 year-old Nan could do it.

Turning it on and getting it running was a joy. There was a momentary pause after pressing "Start" that left my heart in my mouth but it actually just takes a few moments for the motor to wind itself up - which is a lot easier to deal with than some "professional" kit that just starts at 3mph and sends you flying backwards.

The other impressive thing is that the motor is VERY quiet and the belt is nicely padded. I'll have to find out how quiet it all remains with prolonged use (I'm training for an endurance walk so it will get some good long runs) and whether the belt suffers from the notorious side-slippage that I've heard so many of these things do.

Down sides? I'd like the console to lie flatter so I could wedge a water-bottle in to one of the handles. It would be nice if they had provided somewhere to hang the safety-clip when not in use - I can see that getting lost. The incline (it's a 4-position manual - dead easy to adjust) doesn't go very steep.

But those are minor quibbles. It's easy to put together, extremely quiet in use and built like a tank. I'm chuffed to bits.

(PS The picture on Amazon isn't 100% accurate. There is a lot of orange on the front feet and the sides of the running deck. May not be to some peoples taste)

EDIT

14 months on and it is still going strong. The built-in programs are a bit rubbish (take too long to build up. Who wants to spend 5 mins walking at 1 mph?) but over-all I am really pleased with it and it has taken a good bit of use whilst still looking brand new.

My treadmill was faulty (sending it back) but I will try not to let this colour my review.

Positive points: this is a solid bit of kit, as someone else has said, and it is very quiet.

On the down side, the assembly instructions and the trouble shooting guide have been very poorly translated; they are possibly the worst I've ever seen. I would not recommend this to anyone who is not confident that they can build these things using only their own wits. (Diagrams are no help as they are too small and inaccurate.)

Most important point: I would also point out that, although it folds up to take up very little space, it is fitted with wheels that are far too small. This means that you have to tip the whole thing quite far back to roll it and, due to the weight of the unit, this feels like a back injury waiting to happen. I considered getting a replacement after returning this one, but decided against it due to the lack of any real mobility.

1.0 out of 5 stars Well Amazon customer services were great anyway...., 17 Aug 2009
This review is from: Body Sculpture Treadmill BT3150 (Sports)
As with a previous reviewer my machine lasted a day. On the second day it looks like the computer unit had broken, no lights, no power to it. Rechecked all the connections. Still nothing. The helpful trouble shooting guide suggested that I replaced the computer unit with a new computer unit. Errr... ok....

Anyway my first experience of sending something back to Amazon and it was great! They picked it up relatively quickly and the email correspondence I had with them was very helpful and friendly. Some comments on the actual product itself

- It weighs 60 kilo's. So this has to be delivered by truck and you really need the guys delivering it to help bring it to the exact place it needs to go. It really is heavy and you shouldn't underestimate how heavy it is.
- I can understand why there are mixed comments on how easy it is to put together. The instructions are somewhat vague and there's a lot of relying on your own interpretation of what the matches the picture. But after some guesswork and a few mistakes it did fit together relatively straightforwardly. The guide could do with improvement though.
- Once it's together it does fold up and impressively so. It locks into place and seems reasonably secure and stable. It is tall though and the weight means that you're unlikely to be rushing to move it far once it's folded up.
- The quality of the treadmill part is excellent, very sturdy and seemingly well made. As your running on it you feel that it's a quality piece of kit, in fact I was very surprised given the price.
- If I had to guess it definitely seems to be the computer unit that's the problem. I don't know exactly what's going wrong with it but something is and there's two much time between my machine being delivered and the previous reviewers for this to be one bad batch.

Good luck! If it works I think you'll be very happy! But make sure you keep all of the packaging for a little while. At least because it's so large if it does go wrong Amazon's delivery company will come and pick it up from your house, so you don't need to worry about returning it yourself.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time, 17 Feb 2011
This review is from: Body Sculpture Treadmill BT3150 (Sports)
Very poor quality product. Casing was cracked when the box was opened. Easy to build but motor blew after 2 hours. Replacement sent though original not collected. Replacement lasted overnight before that too died a sudden death. After a week, millets finally arranged uplift of 2 broken treadmills, though refund is still to be processed. Don't waste your time And money - choose another treadmill!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Get Screwdriver to assemble it, 29 Jan 2010
This review is from: Body Sculpture Treadmill BT3150 (Sports)
I bought this some months ago, and it is still working fine. Sounds like you either get a good one or it doesn't work. It is excellent for the price as a treadmill. I would not, though, see it as easy to assemble. I got Screwdriver to assemble it, and that meant it was put together properly, but it took him well over an hour to do, even though he had done some before, which meant it wasn't cheap. It is very heavy and you need it properly delivered: don't try and carry it upstairs yourself. As long as it doesn't pack in for a few years I am perfectly happy with it, but I dread it breaking down when out of guarantee and trying to move it anywhere. If you work out what gym membership costs, this will pay for itself in a year or less of that, and I find I can stay just as fit with it. I just hope it stays that way.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke down after 1 day too, 20 Feb 2010
This review is from: Body Sculpture Treadmill BT3150 (Sports)
As with two previous reviewers my machine lasted a day - once again, seems the computer unit has broken, no lights, no power to it (although the machine was receiving power - the mains light was on on base of unit).

So back to Amazon it goes, thank goodness they have good customer service. But I'm getting a refund, not a replacement, as I think these treadmills are too fragile; after three identical faults with three different reviewers, widely spaced - it's got a design flaw. Look at other makes if I were you.

Takes a bit of time to put together- lots of parts and slightly dodgy translation into English. Finished result works well and very compact.

4.0 out of 5 stars Doing a great job, 21 May 2009

I purchased this from Amazon and it came in the week time, it took me an hour to put it together and I found the instruction is easy to understand. plug in then off you go. The main purpuse I purchase this is for my dogs actually, so I can excise them while it rains. It just did a great job, even though got scraches on the running surface already by my dogs nails. easy to to fold for storage as well. I could run on it as well after dogs excises. very pleased.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worked for less than half a day., 13 May 2009
By
This review is from: Body Sculpture Treadmill BT3150 (Sports)
Item was easy to assemble and worked well the first time we used it.
Second time the item powered on (red light on base) but then nothing. All connectors were checked thoroughly.
The troubleshooting guide is one of the worst pieces of Engrish I have ever read. "Computer lighting not lighting, Solution replace Computer" great advice.
Obviously my item is a lemon. The other review seems very positive, I must have been unlucky.

Annoyingly I now have to disassemble the unit, repack it, arrange time off for courier collection, just to be back to sqaure one.

Miffed!

Are you spending money and losing space?
Dont buy the others. close your eyes and buy it, Im loving it.
saved money, and saved my space. you can stand it in 90 degree. remember: other treadmill will say so but hold only 45 degree which is not saving space.
