Bought this after reading tireless number of reviews and web searches trying to find a perfect router for PS3 and Wii internet connection in the end thought sod it and got the Belkin on sale .Initial setup took 45mins with a little help from customer helpline ,who were great if a little hard to understand..No problems in two months connection reliable no interfernce from anything and both PS3 and Wii long way from router with 100% signal. Great item and the USB WiFi dongle comes with the pack an added bonus as well..Also if your a novice like me to wireless this is so easy try it..online gaming wish i had done earlier..

As my old Belkin router was starting to go, I decided to replace and upgrade my router. I looked at the reviews for this, and the price was very good, so I went for it.

I have to say I have been impressed so far, with no cut-outs at all (from which I used to get from my old one) and you get advanced security features etc.

Installation is easy if the quick installation guide works from the CD. Mine didn't set the router up properly, and I don't know why, so I set it up manually. This wasn't a problem for me, the layout and features are very similar to previous Belkin routers.

The USB adapter that comes also in the box, is very easy to install and set up, so I was on the internet in no time.

Overall, the setting up via the CD may be iffy for some people but it shouldn't put you off as it was probably only mine, but otherwise good value and very reliable & quick.

I bought this bundle to replace my Belkin Wireless G modem router and PCI adapter because it wasn't always connecting and was giving me the Limited or No Connectivity message on a regular basis.

I went for Belkin again because the last one had been replaced once free of charge under the lifetime guarantee.

This new one connects within about 5-10 seconds every time without fail and it has more advanced security.

Like with the last one I let Windows run the connection rather than the Belkin software as it seems to work better.

Well worth buying rather than soldiering on with an intermittent Wireless G connection. Life's too short.

Previously had 1 wired and 2 wireless connections on a thomson router (supplied by my ISP). My wired conection ran at ~13mb and both my wireless (g series Belkin PCI card) ranged between 2-3mb. Replaced the router with this belkin unit but still used my PCI card and the speed was still 2-3mb. Installed the USB n series addapter and wireless connections are now running at 12mb. Despite other peoples reservations about n-series wireless it seems to be doing the trick for me.

i bought this to use with my new laptop and existing pc which were set up on talk talk. I followed the initial set up which was on a cd, unfortunately for some reason the auto set up didnt work. I ended up searching on the internet and found that other people had experienced the same problems and there was a fix online so eventually it was set up. After relocating the wireless unit and plugging it into my main telephone socket im getting great speeds. laptop, pc, wii all work , happy times !

so apart from the initial set up difficulties which may only be with talk talk i am very happy with my purchase

I obtained one of these sets from a well-known online competitor to amazon.co.uk. As soon as I tried to set it up I discovered the power supply plug was the wrong size for the power input on the rear of the router. I also discovered from online forums and reviews that this is a well-known problem for units purchased from my supplier. I contacted Belkin email customer support. A day later they replied suggesting I should BUY a new power supply at an electrical shop such as Radioshack. How ridiculous they would not replace it at their expense - they might as well have suggested that I buy a new router from a better company such as Draytek or Billion!

As I had paid so little for the unit I wanted to keep it rather than send it back for a mere refund. I took both the router and the power supply to my local Maplin. They soon found an adapter to solve the problem and even powered it up in the shop to see that it worked. What brilliant service from Maplin. The part I used cost GBP 1.49 and is a DC Plug Adapter LG51 AY.

Having done all this I was able to actually use and try out the router. It has a nice clear interface which was easy to set up. Mine has been very tetchy though. It won't show wireless DHCP clients correctly and often hangs for ages before failing to display this screen correctly. It does not get on at all well with my Intel wireless adapter which fails to find the network and has to be forced to look and connect (which it should do automatically). It then frequently drops the Intel off the network. It works well with my Atheros adapters though. The signal range is not great on wireless G, nothing like as good as the free Siemens router that came from my broadband supplier. The unit runs very hot.

So would I recommend it? Well it depends. I paid under one-third of the high street price so for me it's worth keeping it to use as a spare or even a plain network switch. I doubt it will last long because it runs so hot so I would say for mission critical applications pay the money for a Draytek or Billion router.

I replaced 3 devices with this one (a modem router, switch and an 802.11g wireless access point). I'll probably save the cost in reduced power consumption :-)

The device was easy to set up, and I am astounded by the improvement in wireless performance. ADSL speed hasn't really changed, but I have a MacBook Pro with 802.11n wireless built-in and the wireless performance has gone from poor to unbelievable. I used to have to "wire up" for doing downloads, but now I don't bother because wireless speed is so good.

This is a five star product for me.

I bought this router in 2008 and it is still working perfectly today. I am using it with the Virgin Meida 10MB broadband package and I get the correct speed when downloading/uploading.

Moving files via Wireless from one computer to another:
700kbps-1.5mbps

Moving files via Ethernet from one computer to another:
5mbps-7mbps

Very impressed with this product
5/5

I've just installed this router as an upgrade from a Belkin Cable/DSL Gateway Router F5D6231-4 connected to cable Virgin Media thatb I've used for several years. I wanted to extend signal coverage to some of the further away rooms in the house as well as the garden, and make use of the faster wireless network speed (max 300 mbs up from 11 mbs). Following the quick setup up guide, and with the setup utility, it worked first time, straight out of the box, and has extended coverage just like I needed. The wireless LAN speed is defintely quicker, although I haven't dome any serious testing yet. One of the reasons I chose Belkin is because of their lifetime support. Unlike other reviewers here, whenever I've needed to use the support line with other products, they have always solved the problem for me. I'd recommend this router, and Belkin wireless adaptors always work well too.
