5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, excellent, fabulous but incomplete.
Just received this in the mail today. This is a wonderful release. Yes, like others I am sad that the BBC don't release full series of their classics, but just best of compliations. They don't seem to realise us fans need it all, not just bits! Hilarious from start to finish, esp the segment in Alas Sage And Onion where Tony Slattery hosts a game show called Biggotry...

2.0 out of 5 stars WHY "BEST OF"??!! WHY NOT THE COMPLETE SERIES??!!
I am a huge fan of Not The 9 O'Clock News and was pleased to see Smith And Jones finally coming to DVD after many unexplained delays. But WHY does it have to be "best of"??!

I was too young to have seen the original airing of this series, and like so many other classic comedies (eg. Not The Nine O'Clock News) I probably never will, because the BBC refuses to...

5.0 out of 5 stars At Last Smith & Jones Volume 1, 14 Aug 2009
By
This review is from: At Last Smith And Jones Vol.1 [DVD] (DVD)
This is a best of Smith & Jones Volume 1 it features the best bits from Series 1 To 4. If your a fan of the duo then this for you although quite a lot of sketches are left out it is still worth having. It is packed with extras on disc 2 while disc one as the extra of the Home Made Video for christmas Which features a very young Nigel Harman playing Griff son Peter if At Last Smith & Jones is land mark for the best comedy duo ever then lets hope all Series come out on DVD this is not always the case as they can be released in other countries I bought Hale & Pace Box set with all the series from Australia lets just hope Smith & Jones come out on DVD in the UK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Of Because..., 24 Dec 2009

They've clearly released a best of because Alas Smith and Jones ran for 14 years, from 1984 until 1998 and they made 10 series in that time. So if you take into account that the new Gavin & Stacey box-set is just 3 series and 6 discs - using the same ratio, that would make an Alas Smith and Jones box-set 20 discs.
