5.0 out of 5 stars A Cult Classic
Before I start this review, I will warn you that it WILL be biased... I first watched this film as a young teenager, with a group of mates, probably high, and I loved it! Since then I must have watched the film 20 times or more, it's one of my favourites but I'll try to write an honest review all the same.

Like many British films, this is rather querky. There's...

3.0 out of 5 stars Blue Juice(DVD)(1995) Jones/Pertwee/McGregor
Thank goodness for Catherine Zeta Jones. Is there any role she cannot play convincingly? in this feature film, early in her career, she plays Chloe, a very 'Hip Chick' running a small Cafe in 1970's Cornwall with her Surfing Ace boyfriend JC,-Shawn Pertwee. As the producer says, she fills the screen, and it is lucky she does, for without her the film would be less...

You will either love or hate this film.

Those that love it and cherish it like a loved LP and are part of a tribe.

This film is great, in my eyes, from start to finish. In addition to what other reviews have said, this film really sums up southern England in 1995 (when it was released) featuring an opening sound track from the short lived Heavy Stereo. (Freedom bug was only ever released as a B side and the version used in this film only ever made it to white label) For a film released in an era dominated by the (then new) indie scene this film features a refreshing and soulfull guest appearance from Edwin Starr. You may love this film, and if you do, you will watch it again and again and again...

I need say no more about this film other than go and buy it, purely for the sight of the gorgeous Sean Pertwee smeared in whipped cream by Catherine Zeta Jones

5.0 out of 5 stars it's not a good film, it's a great film ..., 25 Sept. 2001
This review is from: Blue Juice [DVD] [1995] (DVD)
I first watched this when I was fast approaching my 30th birthday so the lead character JC really got to me, suddenly for no apparent reason I wanted to be getting 'trifled up' with Catherine Zeta Jones. It's a great film, and you surfers out there? watch out for the round brown fishes...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, funny, a joy to watch, 10 Oct. 2000

The king of Cornwall's surf is forced to make a choice, waves or women! It does not matter what he chooses either way this is an excellent film that will appeal to surfers, and even townies! It is not a surfing film but a "life" film that features surfing, comedy, love and life, watch it, you will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Brit flick ever!, 21 Mar. 2007
This review is from: Blue Juice [DVD] [1995] (DVD)
I love this film. Great cast, great script, great setting. I never understood why it didn't receive more acclaim. Much better and funnier than 'Four Weddings' etc. Watch out for JC (Sean Pertwee) and Dean (Ewan McGregor) dancing round a clapped out caravan with spiked hair singing 'ONE LIFE, NO FEAR'. Fantastic.

This is one film you must watch and get for your collection. Features some great stars like sean pertwee, catherine zeta jones and of course ewan macgregor. The story is about a stag party to cornwall that changes everyones lives, and shows us what great british filming is all about.
