1.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF A POOR REMAKE. ALL-STAR CAST DOESN'T SAVE IT EITHER.
THE MOVIE

Since the HALLOWEEN reboot received good criticism I decided to give it a try, despite hating every sequel after the first original sequel.
Rob Zombie's HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES wasn't too bad, I kinda liked THE DEVIL'S REJECTS and the reboot has plenty of great actors, this couldn't be too bad, right?
Wrong.
Compared to Carpenter's...

1.0 out of 5 stars why Mr Zombie? Why?, 18 Jan 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Halloween: Uncut (Director's Cut Edition) [DVD] (DVD)
Dear Robert
What on earth went wrong? I really liked your other movies and was looking forward to this - if anyone could do it you could. But ohhh!!! I guess you're sick of people going on about the 'original' but you gotta face facts. sometimes you can't improve a brilliant movie. The original worked so well because of its normal location - An every day American town where nothing ever happens, with nice enough kids and well kept gardens and the worst psycho killer in history - and boy it worked. Robert in your film EVERYONE was strange, there was no normality to be shattered. It was all too down beat. I couldn't empathise with anyone and felt no sympathy. And suspense? What happened? Where was it? Not one single scare in the whole movie. And what happened to the gore? 1/10. And the ending? Rubish. Robert I expected more from you.
Get back to making entertaining low budget horror. Ignore the big bucks lure of the studios! And be original please.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor re-make! why bother!, 18 Jun 2011
This review is from: Halloween: Uncut (Director's Cut Edition) [DVD] (DVD)
cant believe rob zombie took one of the greatest horrors ever and made it like this! gotta be the most poorest re-makes i have ever seen! turning laurie strode into a heavy metal loving annoying brat. not to mention trying to explain why micheal turned out the way he did, like coming from a poor family background! honestly the worst ever! the only top points i will give it is micheals mask looks scary. not even worth a watch!

(REAL NAME)
This film actually rules i watched this before seeing the original and was blown away by how brutal and realistic, but also how well the charcters develop throughout the film. having now seen the 78 version i relaise how good the zombie version is, its developed every flaw and undeveloped aspect of the original and made it something really special.
