4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality for the price
I bought this treadmill with a few reservations. I had expected one of those dodgy treadmills you get in "token" hotel gyms - belt slips all of the time, stops after 5 mins etc etc. However I have been pleasantly surprised. After some work getting the belt tension correct the treadmill has performed very well. The machine does the basics well - I've not got it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very expensive, zero features, shaky belt
I have been meaning to write this review for ages, but I don't enjoy writing negative reviews... My experience may or may not be useful for you - I am American, and used to the way things are done and priced there, and I value treadmills largely for walking fast (speedwalking, if you like) at a steep incline. I bought a treadmill in America about 6 or 7 years ago, it came...

The machine does the basics well - I've not got it anywhere near its top speed but at 11km/hr it seems fine. It seems harder than running on the road or on gym treadmills I have used recently - I suspect I need to get my level out to check I'm not running on an incline. The incline function on the treadmill is achieved by dropping or raising a couple of supports underneath the machine. All in all a good value product for the money.

Most impressed with the seller, Activity-Plus. They contacted me both by 'phone and email to let me know the progress of my order. Treadmill arrived by Fed-ex smack bang in the middle of the 'delivery window'. Guy from Fed-ex was very helpful and helped me put the box in the downstairs room I asked him to. Treadmill was very well packed. Assembly is really a two person job as some of the wired connections were a bit fiddly but I managed on my own in an hour. Treadmill is very robust and well constructed. Folds up really easily. I would have given it 5 stars but the instruction booklet is very poor. Tells you the machine has 9 prestored programmes and 3 user created programmes but fails to tell you what they do or anything. Overall very pleased with the treadmill and hope to get a lot of use out of it. See you all in London for the marathon next april !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars G R E A T......... M A C H I N E, 31 Mar 2010
This review is from: Hammer Walkrunner RPE Treadmill (Sports)
I have had this machine for over a week and everyone in the house has used it. My teenage son uses it for running and I use it for power walking every day at 6 km per hour. while watching TV. It appears sturdy and comes with a good booklet. It is easy to operate, with 6 pre-set speeds from 2-12 km hr and an easy up-down button to adjust the speed by 1/10 of a km with each press. The display shows you how long you have worked out, your distance, speed and calories burned.

There is plenty of room for my feet to move around, (the base area is wide enough and long enough for me, although I'm not huge - but I expect it would be wide and long enough for a big person too). It comes with a full parts list if you need to order any spares (but the list is in German!) I am very glad that I bought it. I think it has the quality of a much more expensive machine. I hope it lasts as long as I expect it to! It will be well used.

The item was was correctly advertised and arrived when it was supposed to. However no one said just how heavy the total package was (I,am 15 stone of fit muscle and i struggled with this parcel).I overcame this problem by moving the package in parts.
It took about half an hour to put together but when it was for the money iam really impressed at 16 kph this treadmill is really fast and believe you me it can give you a really good work out,in my mind this is a good purchase and i would recommend to everyone

This was an excellent purchase, and the staff were really helpful and delivered on a date that was suitable for me (needs an extra person to help with the unloading) as extremely heavy. The machine is very easy to use and has various programmes that give more more and difficult terrains.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very impressive piece of kit., 9 July 2011
This review is from: Hammer Walkrunner RPE Treadmill (Sports)
Assembly is pretty straight forward and was completed in about half an hour or so. I did this alone without much difficulty but it would have been slightly easier with another pair of hands to assist when mounting the console and simultaneously connecting the internal leads. The instructions are in English and are adequate for their purpose. The component screws, bolts, and washers were grouped and packed in clearly labelled bags corresponding to the instructions in steps 1, through to 6 of the assembly process. I imagine that this would be a useful aid for the non-technically minded as it avoids having to I.D. the fittings from the descriptive diagrams. All parts were well made for a precision fit.

The treadmill has a really solid feel to it and it seems built to last. Manual operation is simple with six quick-select speeds (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, & 12km/h) and intermediate or higher speeds up to 16km/h selectable by + and - buttons on the console or right hand bar. The instruction manual does not explain what the 9 pre-set programs consist of but after running P1 (interval training with speeds varying every couple of minutes between 3km/h and 7km/h) and observing the centre display, it all becomes clear. Thereafter, the content of each program can be roughly assessed by observing the displayed lights when the program is selected. E.g. three red dots indicates 5 or 6km/h, 4 red dots indicates 7 or 8km/h etc. The user can also create three custom programs if desired.
The incline can be easily set at 0, 2, or 4 degrees by manually adjusting the position of the stand at the rear.
All in all this was a good purchase at a competitive price. I did find a couple of other sources within a few pounds of Amazon's price but I also found some websites charging £150 more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not perfect, 27 Mar 2011
This review is from: Hammer Walkrunner RPE Treadmill (Sports)
Delivery was quick and assembly was very easy despite the documentation being German (and no English documentation I could find on the Internet). The build quality is very sturdy but there are two bolts and one screw I have not been able to attach owing to the hole for them being too small, one of the them holds the right hand rail in place so it's currently flapping about slightly loose. I actually took some of the thread off the bolt trying to get it in!

I am 6' 1" and can run comfortably on the surface, and the hydrolic assistance on lifting it up and down is very effective. I like the stop/start/speed buttons on the rails too, and the display is very clear (and in English!).

It looks and feels solid but I have no idea how to service it (oil, belt tension) thanks to German instructions, which combined with the bolts problem prevents this getting a 5 star review which it would have had otherwise. An earlier review mentions a parts list, I never got one of those included either. Maybe I got a Friday afternoon model...

Time to find out what their customer service is like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant machine, 22 Dec 2011

This was bought as a replacement for an expired treadmill and it arrived by HDNL in the window promised I even received a phone call from the driver 10 minutes prior to delivery, I was immediately impressed with the standard of packaging, I immediately set to putting the machine together and with the English instructions found it a breeze it took me on my own 45 minutes from unpacking to actually using the machine, the machine is constructed very well and does everything that was promised, a nice touch was that the construction was in steps and each step had it's own bag of screws, washers etc not like others who just supply a bag of bits that you have to sort out yourself, a brilliant buy and would recommend to anyone considering purchasing.
