This seems to be a high quality, well made piece of kit, as you would expect from Manfrotto. The head tilts and pans smoothly and the locking mechanisms fall easily to hand, the transition from having a vertical to a horizontal centre column works a treat too.

I only have two reservations: The first is that the hooks for hanging a weight on are pretty small (I had to resort to some gardening twine to hang my camera bag). The second is that the folded tripod is surprisingly tall and the head adds an extra 6 inches or so to the overal height, so if portability is a big issue for you a four section tripod might be a better idea.

Overall, though, I'm very pleased I bought this.

I received this the day after I ordered it so great delivery time first of all.Well packaged too. When taken out of the box the tripod and head felt quality. I would expect this to last me decades. It is fairly heavy but very well made and solid. It pays to spend the extra for accessories like this as you get what you pay for. My camera sits rock steady on this and can see some superb images being taken with this. With the added bonus of the horizontally extendable top pole means this can be used for close up/macro aswell.

A great solid tripod. A bit heavier than my cheapo £15 one, but a LOT better. I can see this lasting me years.

Its very sturdy, feels expensive and feels like it wont break it was dropped.

Extends so much too, though the legs do get quite wide so you do need at least 2 metre square surface to put it on.

The head is great too. The spirit level is very useful for getting the camera totally level.

The only way you’re going to get a sturdier support for your camera is to call in a scaffolding firm. This tripod means business. It’s solid and, it must be said, heavy, but this, together with a lot of precision engineering, is exactly what gives it its stability.

With a maximum height of almost 2m, multi-angle leg adjustment, the option to swivel the centre column to a horizontal position and a three way head, it’s a pretty versatile bit of kit.

The tripod itself is rated for a 7Kg safe load, which is more than the combined weight of Canon’s heaviest DSLR coupled with their biggest telephoto lens. However, the head is limited to 4kg, which is still more than enough for a pro camera body coupled with a very substantial lens, but if you do find that it’s not enough, you can always update the head at a later date.

This kit is likely to be with me a very long time. Thank you Manfrotto.

The tripod arrived quickly & was well packed, full marks to the supplier. It is a heavy beast and will probably last a lifetime. As most of my photography is accessed by car, the weight will not be a problem. I toyed with buying the carbon fibre version, but was glad I hadn't when I found one had split in an extremely cold situation.

One word, brilliant. It took under a day to have this item delivered and it does not disappoint. I had a Hahnel tripod before this and the difference in build quality is immense. If you're looking for a good, sturdy and well built tripod then I would recommend this.

Bought this primarily to support my Canon 60D for startrail shots. Was pleasantly surprised to see how well it also supports my Megrez ED 80 Telescope. This tripod is rock solid!!

I had a very cheep tripod, I wanted to buy a better one, undecided about manfrotto and an equivalent giottos, at the end this won.
It's very stable, all of it, inlcuding the central column, and the material appears to be good quality. Sometimes to use low view point we can put the central column in a hole in the ground instead of change it's orientation. The legs has 4 angle positions, it's very good because sometimes the maximum angle is not desirable.
The head could be more sensible, when we moves the camera to level the horizon. but in global terms is good.

This is sturdy and locks tight with no play. I have had it for many months now and its stayed that way, no loss of tightness yet. The only slight downside is the camera plate, it has a semi-circular "handle" to tighter the tripod screw into the camera. If like me you have short nails, getting this into a position to undo it can be a challenge, I usually have to pry it up with something. Small niggle but it would be annoying if you were in a hurry. Otherwise this does the job well,

Feels sturdy, great quality and every movement on it is smooth.
Great head, great legs.

Unfortunately I started filming more as opposed to taking photos so this tripod doesn't get used as much as it should.
There isn't a panning handle as such but you do not need that if your just taking photos!

Great price here though so if you're a photographer I couldn't think of many things that you would want that this doesn't have.
