I have many bakeware items and cake tins by Masterclass. I've been replacing my old ones and adding to as and when needed. Masterclass have been my automatic choice, they have always produced well priced items of heavy solid first class quality that really help turn a good result.
However this may be about to change. The 20cm tin bought by my partner for me from amazon arrived and to be honest if it hadn't had the Masterclass packaging I would have assumed I'd been sent the wrong product.
Gone is the '1mm commercial grade steel' and fabulous non stick coating, what I received was a cheap thin lightweight cake tin with a bit of indifferent non stick sprayed on it. Frankly it's not going to last a couple of uses never mind the 20 years claimed.
To illustrate my Masterclass 150mm Tin weighs over twice what this 200mm does!
Seriously you can get better tins for under a fiver in the supermarket. If this is the new Masterclass standard then they are going to have to modify their claims as the current write up is frankly misleading if not downright fraudulent.
I'd like to think that somehow this was some sort of mistake. I just don't see how, it's seems more likely that having built up a good reliable reputation Masterclass is now happy to palm it's customers off with cheap bottom grade tatt whilst hiking the price.
Obviously the tin is returned and I shall need some sort of assurance before I buy another of their products.
How the mighty fall, a massive disappointment.
