This is, as stated in the previous review, an excellent series and rather charming too. Good combination of Sci-fi locales and typical anime humour/action. And as always the Funimation dub is pretty good if (like me) you prefer not to read subtitles or don't happen to know Japanese.
The picture quality is pretty awesome and looks great, especially when up-scaled to 1080p, its very clean.
Another bonus of this Viridian Collection (US Import, which appears to be the one in the picture on this site here) is that it will play on Region 2 players (I have tried on UK PS3 and works fine) so that is an added bonus as it can be quite hard to find a collection here in the UK for a decent price.

"Kiddy Grade" is a strange title for a science fiction series about superheroes. It refers to the idea that there are varying grades of "super", and the two we follow are considered to be in the lowest, or kiddy, grade (interestingly, the phrase "kiddy grade" does not appear anywhere in the show).

We follow Eclair and Lumiere, troubleshooters for the Galactic Union of Trade and Tariffs (GOTT - analogous to the WTO). They look like children, but we slowly learn that they have been around for quite a while. Eclair is fast, strong, wields a lipstick lariat, and is recklessly cheerful. Lumiere has the ability to control computers at a distance, and is forever saying "a lady should be more elegant" in response to Eclair brashness.

Over the course of the series we meet other trouble-shooting pairs working for the GOTT, like Sinistre and Dextre, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and Alv and Dvergr. Each has different powers.

I won't spoil it for you, but trust that there is an over-arching story which ties it all together. This is a series which rewards going back and watching again - I have just finished watching it for the third time (first time was in 2004), and enjoyed it even more.

I originally bought this series as it came out, disc by disc, and that was expensive. Buying it this way is much cheaper, and there's no waiting for the release of the next disc!

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant, 14 Jun. 2008

In star century Zero one sixty five, the globel union was born. The G.O.T.T. was simultaneously formed to settle dispute amongst the members planets. existing in the shadows, the ES force serves as hte primary law enforment organisation, seeing that the galactic organisation's orders are enforced. ES force members Eclair and Lumiere are on the front line, pursuing all manner of criminals and bringing them to justice. This is their story.

A brilliantly highly stunning series. very deep and vibrant colours and great effects recommended to anyone. the only thing to people many find anoying is the use of crotch shots when they jump up in the air, still a great series and they may even be a new one.
