5.0 out of 5 stars The first three FEAR games all in one
and well worth getting.

FEAR is a classic, although it does need a couple of plays through to appreciate this. The sound is good and the partially destructible environments are fun once you have worked out how to exploit them. I have to disagree with those that think it is scary, it just isn't.

Extraction is the continuation of the original story...

2.0 out of 5 stars Fair start... Poor finish
I had great expectatons before i brought the game, form the very beginning it became clear that the game was very linear, not what i was expecting.
As the game moved on, and i started playing the second game, it occured to me that it was exactly the same as the first, and the same with the 3rd.
very disappointed.

and well worth getting.

FEAR is a classic, although it does need a couple of plays through to appreciate this. The sound is good and the partially destructible environments are fun once you have worked out how to exploit them. I have to disagree with those that think it is scary, it just isn't.

Extraction is the continuation of the original story that takes off just after the ending and whilst it expands it I found the ending disappointing. Not much is different from the first apart from a few new, mostly useless, weapons and a new type of monster. It is rather short at only 5 intervals.

Perseus Mandate is more of the same, but more like a Blue Shift alternative view. You play another character and the storyline involves a new foe in the form of mercenaries to fight. The story bisects the FEAR one occasionally but is self contained. Once the 7 intervals are completed there are 3 bonus missions unlocked, which are basic but fun.

Overall the expansion packs don't add that much from the first game to warrant the cost of three separate games, but to get them all in one and play them sequentially is more than enough reason to justify getting this pack.

EXCELLENT GAME BUT COULD BE IMPROVED, UNFORTUNATELY FEAR 2 DIDN'T DO THIS, BUT THIS GAME IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY

F.E.A.R is a very solid first person shooter with horror elements that feels similar to Half Life. You play as a new recruit who is sent out with the F.E.A.R team to basically see what the hell is going on. Action is very fast paced and very punishing so be cautious if your not an experienced FPS/PC game user, and even if you are you will be dieing a lot! The horror side of this game is phenomenal it is one of the only games that has ever properly scared me alongside the original Silent Hill, Dead Space and Condemned. The main point of the horror is Alma a strange little girl in a red dress who keeps popping up everywhere and causing these incredibly weird hallucinations or flashbacks or whatever the hell you wanna call them which are extremely unsettling, much more unsettling than you would expect. The second installment is much the same as the first without much added on but why fix something that isn't broken? Online is also great but veeeeeery hard some people are just nuts at this game. A very good game basically (or very good games i should say) and at this price why not?
