I have now owned two of these units and I must say they are good for the price. It connects to my iTouch no problem, I do a 1 hour journey to and throw from work each day and this kit is easy to install inside your crash helmet. It comes with good quality sticky back velcrose pads for locating the speakers into place once this is done you are left with a female connector lead about 75mm long dangling from your crash helmet so you can connect the lead from your mp3 player into it once you have turnned it on and put it in your internal top pocket on your bike jacket. There is a good length coiled lead for connecting to your mp3 player. The volume control has an easy use thumb wheel located near the speaker end of the lead, this means you can leave the volume control outside the top of your jacket where the zip ends so you can adjust the volume when your riding your bike. The only thing is when you adjust the volume it can be a bit crackly after several months of use, but once you have found your volume level its ok. Also, because you are not plugging directly into your ears you can still be aware of the surrounding traffic noise etc. I listen to rock music and the sound quality has enough bass and loudness to do the job well inside your crash helmet. TIP: make sure you use a bit of blue tack to locate the speakers into place inside your crash helmet and play a test piece of music to check if they are lined up with your ears properly otherwise you will loose the sound quality if they are not over your ear holes!.!!!........ All in all for the money it's a good buy!.

If you wear a helmet of any description buy this product, Ive had earphones falling in and out of my ears for years wether cycling or skiing. Suddenly no problems no fuss they were easy to fit, easy to use and worked well ended up using my phone a lot with it so if buying again would get microphone as well. All wires connections are of good quality and the pads are unobtrusive they also made little difference to hearing everything, anybody around you.

Headset for MP3,

I bought this item as a back up for a bluetooth headset item which never arrived prior to me leaving on a motorcycle touring holiday.I used the headset on the two week tour across France with a Garmin Zumo 660 sat nav, plugging it into the headphone socket on the power loom routed to the side of my tank. Overall it performed very well. It could have been a little louder at times but that is probably the sat nav. It was quite clear and wasn't affected by wind noise (although we took it fairly steady, a maximum of the permitted 130 kmh on toll routes). The earpieces were fine and being flat didn't irritate the ears. If there were a couple of spare Velcro pads with the headphone kit to attach the earpiece, that would be useful as spares and you could transfer it from helmet to helmet more easily. The coiled lead gave flexibility and the small clip allowed you to fix it to your jacket and stop it flapping around in the wind. Don't do what I did a couple of times and got off the bike and walked away with the lead still attached!

Bought these to allow me to listen to music when out on my motorbike. As they are not in ear they still allow you to hear sirens or traffic around you. They fit the Shoei Multitec due to it having a space that the speakers can sit into too. My not fit all crash helmets.

Just got these.. velcro'd them into my Shoei, and have to report very good upto 80mph (private road of course) when playing the radio on my phone. Oddly my MP3 player is quieter than my phones for some reason, but that will be the MP3 not the speakers. Take a little time to position the speakers correctly and they give a decent volume. I ride a 1000cc bike with a fruity (but not overly loud exhaust) and found them good enough for legalish speeds - wouldn't expect any speakers to work at silly speeds. Go for it.

Alternative to Blue Tooth if on a budget.,

Having been familiar with the headsets used by the Sonic Intercom series of the early '80's, I was looking for something similar when I returned to biking, but was not prepared to go down the Blue tooth route. This is a cheap and effective alternative to Bluetooth, and works well up to 70mph. Any faster and you need an amp such as the FiiO E05. Excellent product and can be easily swapped between lids if required, due to the Velcro fittings.
