I have many recordings of this Schubert Fantasy (inc. Lupu/Perahia, Britten/Richter, Lewis/Osborne, and Brendel/Crochet) and, for me, this surpasses them all. As can happen with Schubert, the initial haunting melody can fail to sustain interest throughout a long work but the Labeque sisters seem to have a rapport and ability to spark ideas off each other, so that the interest never flags. Their range of emotion and dynamics is truy remarkable. The Mozart coupling is also fine but does not reach quite the same originality of interpretation.
I cannot understand why this cd has been overlooked by other reviewers, as I beleve it is a 'must hear' version.

I knew the two featured works, but this performance by the sisters Labeque has taken me to a different level.
The virtuosity of these piano players is beyond belief. Since I received this cd, I must have listened to it at least 20 times: I cannot get enough of it...!
An absolute pleasure from "Mozart and Schubert, and a excellent rendition from the Labeque sisters.
