I picked this up from a shop in Reykjavic called 12 Tonar, before a friend and I embarked upon a road trip along the west coast of Iceland and back. Driving around the country along the lonely roads, through fog and sunshine, valleys and over mountains, this was the perfect soundtrack. For me it complimented the loneliness of the landscape. It's a beautiful album, and went hand in hand with our Sigur Rós.

Englaborn is thought provoking music that takes hold of you from it's very first note, shrouds you in it's finest sound and cuddles you in it's ever expansive Egyptian Cotton sheets of minimalism. Johann Johannssson takes you on a melancholic milky way that you will find hard to resist at any time of year. Enjoy the spirit of Iceland.
