This is definitely not like being in a sane asylum!! Fast, thrashy end even sometimes eerie from the word go and throughout the whole album. I bought this because I wanted to add to my collection of albums with Les Claypool on, and although it's nothing like anything else i've heard from Les, it is a fantstic thrash metal record. Claypools bass techniques are some of the best my ears have been blessed with hearing, and the guitar(rhythm from Larry Lalonde-great riffs! and lead from Mark Biedermann-very technical solos) and drumming (from Mike Minor-also progressive and technical) are second to none. The vocals from Biedermann are often considered the weakest part of the album, but in my opinion they fit perfectly with the energetic feel of the tracks.
If you like thrash metal, you need this album, even if you don't it is worth it just for Claypools bass playing brilliance!
