Had an older sonicare toothbrush (about 3 yas old), which at the time i thought was superb....... then i bought this. Its unbelievable. I wondered whether it would be worth the money, and it is. After every time i use it im amazed at how clean my teeth feel. My whole mouth just feels great.
If you've never bought & sonic toothbrush & especially a sonicare one from phillips i strongly reccomend you to get this as its superb !

Truly the Best,

Like a few other people I have had previous versions but this is just amazing! So much lighter in weight and the battery power is astonishing. OK my previous model needed charging every four days towards the end of its 5 year life but this one lasted a whole month on its first charge.
The brush heads are nicely shaped to your teeth and clean so very well. I did read some problems with the On/Off button collapsing into the handle in other models (not this Flexicare version) so I hope as time goes by they have fixed this issue with this one. Don't hesitate. This is truly a magnificent toothbrush and a joy to use.

Don't hesitate, this is the best brush there is. Had an old style Philips Sonicare and thought it was time to upgrade. So I tried the Oral B Triumph for a change plus the good reviews it had, but it wasn't for me. This brush has a slim brush and handle which I find easier to use. My teeth have never looked cleaner! Well perhaps when I'd just left the hygienist they had. I'm happy with it and feel the upgrade was well worth it.

Great toothbrush - but...,

I was given one of these for Christmas. The toothbrush itself is great once you get used to it. Teeth feel really clean. HOWEVER, beware two points: 1) Philips make many different models all with confusing numbers and many different brush heads which are not all compatible with the different numbers. The number of the model is not written on the toothbrush, so once you have thrown away the box and you set off to buy new heads, you will be bamboozled by the choice and difficulty of choosing the correct one. They are also hard to find in most shops and may have to be specially ordered. 2) The replacement heads are REALLY EXPENSIVE.
To anyone thinking of buying one of these, unless you have been recommended it by a dentist, I would consider buying Braun/Oral B who seem to have a much more co-ordinated and affordable approach.

I've bought a few of these. One as a gift. Unfortunately, they don't last very long. Philips will replace under warranty and even give you a new head when they do. However, the replacement units don't last any longer. Mine lasted 14 months which isn't great considering I was the only person using it. I will probably buy another one but it makes me angry that these things are ending up in the land fill so quickly.

Good and bad,

The Philips Sonicares are great toothbrushes. If you haven't used one before then you'll be amazed at how clean and polished your teeth feel and how much more healthy your gums are. You do need to get used to using them though, so that you don't accidentally change the setting while you are brushing. You also need to get used to using very light pressure to get the best advantage of the sonic technology and also avoid wearing out the replaceable heads too quickly. The biggest drawback though is reliability. I had one of the original and now unfortunately obsolete Sonicare toothbrushes with the moving parts in the replaceable head and that lasted for years without a problem. The new range has the major moving parts in the handle and there seems to be the flaw. In the two year warranty period the first brush failed after a few weeks, the replacement failed after a year or so and the second replacement failed a few weeks before the warranty expired. On the second replacement Philips made comments to the effect that they don't usually replace more than once on warranty but would do so in my case as a special concession. Quite unreasonable I thought - a warranty is a warranty and you'd expect the thing to last at least two years for the price. These failures weren't the on/off button problem that has been reported, the handle just stopped working altogether. Except for an automated acknowledgement, I haven't heard back from Philips about the third claim and I doubt that I will now but life's too short to keep chasing toothbrush warranty claims. The brush is so good that I've bought another and will follow the warranty up as necessary. My experience suggests that you can't expect the thing to last much longer than two years and even with a light touch I think that you'll be lucky to get 3 months out of the rather expensive replacement heads, so you need to be prepared to pay something like £4 per week just for a toothbrush - that works out at about double what I pay my dental hygienist for two visits per year. That seems a lot even for a very good brush. My son's fiancée has one and she has just given up on it after the second failure on the basis that she hasn't got time to keep queuing up in the post office to send it back for warranty replacements.

Good but not perfect,

Great electric toothbrush lots more features than my previous sonicare. Only complaint is the handle takes some getting used too. Below the on/off button is a button allowing you to toggle through various options. The problem is you have to grip the brush below that button otherwise you togle through the options as you are using the brush. Small niggle but is annoying when you are getting used to a new brush. that asside 10/10

Compared to my old Braun, this toothbrush is the business. It feels professional and cleans very well. 5 Stars always seems excessive but I have no complaints. My teeth are nice and clean.

Better than my last Sonicare as gunk doesn't leak through into battery space. I'm glad I read a review on here of a similar Sonicare toothbrush before I started using this one - that way I started using it on the sensitive setting - one reviewer had been left with seriously sensitive teeth after using another Sonicare toothrush on the whitening setting. The sensitive setting is fine for me - although I don't have paricularly sensitive teeth, I'm concerned not to wear away the enamel through toothrush damage - this can happen more as you get older - with receding gums, more of the tooth below the gumline (that doesn't have such hard enamel on it) is exposed. It performs fine in terms of battery life and little travel pouch for travelling is useful. It's comfotable to hold and easy to use. So all fine, but stick to the sensitive setting.

Improved Sonicare,

This review is from: Philips Sonicare HX6902/02 FlexCare Rechargeable Toothbrush (Personal Care)
My old Sonicare was due to be replaced as it was failing to hold a charge for long but had given sterling service. This new model is an improvement as it is less bulky and it's cleaner and easier to remove the brush head. It appears to go longer between charges and overall is a worthy successor. For anyone who hasn't tried one - if you have the money - go ahead. They really do clean well.
