5.0 out of 5 stars Album of the century, 29 Aug 2007

Armchair Anarchy has been a long time coming - but well worth the wait. Lee Griffiths has probably the best white soul singing voice in the universe. It is only once you get past the wonder of his voice that you realise that he is also an excellent guitarist.Every song is a gem. From the heart felt beauty of Meet Me Halfway and Would It Help Me to the storming rock/pop of Golden Rule and Paranoid. Everybody's Leaving has to be the best end of party song written EVER and Shoes is just stunning, full of clever Manc humour.
If you like your singer/songwriters to have pure emotion and capable of making their point of view heard without being over-preachy then you need look no further than Lee Griffiths - PURE GENIUS.

4.0 out of 5 stars Welcome return, 15 Jan 2008
This review is from: Armchair Anarchy (Audio CD)
It's wonderful to see Lee producing such a great album after a long wait and, judging by the sleeve notes, a lot of traumas. He has a great voice and writes very good songs, which are well served here by both the band and the production. Buy it !

5.0 out of 5 stars Instant classic, 25 Oct 2007
This review is from: Armchair Anarchy (Audio CD)
Heard a track from this album on Terry Christian's radio program in Manchester and tried to buy it the next day. Eventually got it on iTunes and I haven't stopped listening to it for about 5 months now. When I say instant classic it really is... it's that good! Manchester has produced a long line of huge acts, New Order, The Smiths, Stone Roses, Oasis etc. With some good management and a bit of luck I think Lee Griffiths is the next name on that list. His career has stuttered once, I hope it isn't allowed to again as his talent deserves a big audience. He reminds me of another artist I love (and LG does too), John Martyn. I couldn't think why for a while as they don't sound particularly alike. Then I realised what it was, they both play mostly acoustic music that is both beautiful AND ballsy at the same time. Brilliant, buy it! Also if you get a chance to see him live, go while he's still playing small venues he is absolutely dynamite live.
