This review is from: LEIGH HUNT A Biography (Hardcover)
Blunden has a great writing style which teases out small biographical details that make the subject come alive. He has written extensively about this fertile period of English writing and this biography of Hunt is a great achievement and a fine contribution to our understanding of that time. Hunt is a great subject for a biographer; he was a jourrnalist and writer and knew and published many of the great poets of the time. He was friends with Keats and Shelley among others and planned a literary journal with Lord Byron. He was also a campaigning journalist who was imprisoned for his radical beliefs. Edmund Blunden is an unfairly forgotten writer and poet and this book is a great tribute to another writer who should be more widely known than he is.
