4.0 out of 5 stars Yest another impossible comeback for Shaun Ryder..
And yes, this IS a great comeback, even though you might not realize it the first couple of times you listen to the CD. This is not easy-listenable party music like "Pills, Bills.." or "It's great when you're straight.." It's much closer to the type of songs you find on Bummed - the classic 1988 Happy Mondays CD. No catchy choruses here, no female backing singers,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Something missing
For me the Mondays sound began with Paul Ryder basslines, Mark Day on guitar. Without them it's just Shaun and a band, not Happy Mondays.
The new bird ain't a patch on Rowetta neither.
Album just ok for me.
About 3 good tunes, but this is no Pills & Thrills.
I even preferred Yes Please.
I think this is the worst Mondays artwork as well.
Music...

5.0 out of 5 stars God's Cop Out, 19 Oct 2007
This review is from: Uncle Dysfunktional (Audio CD)
All the points I could make have already been made, so I'm going to cop out by just saying that I love this album.

The tunes are spot on, the lyrics are completely mad (which is good). It sounds like a band who are enjoying what they're doing and they've come up with something distinctive and fun.

I'd give it 6 stars if I could, to balance up some of the preceding naive reviews from people who were hoping for another Pills n Thrills. This is not a Zeitgeist album, it's a great album (apart from Anti Warhol).

well, the lads all made it on stage. Or at least i think so it was very dark! Still as expected a great show was put on and even a broken arm couldnt stop Bez wackin' the maracas like a good un.

The usual raw, in yer face attitude is there as are the Mondays' mad eveyday life tales. Funky Anti Warhole reminiscent of Halelujah days. Jellybean is just pure madness.

Will hit the spot for Mondays fans but maybe the chaps are showing signs of excess and loking for a pension.
