Doesn't drill though wood to well, but they get there.
I've used them almost daily, so useful for when I'm not sure what material is on the other side. Go's though brick and tile like butter, not had the chance to use them on metal yet.
Have a look at the Irwin web site, there is a video on these, they're very nifty for cordless drills, they save your battery power, thus your batteries life. Not had the chance to truly test this but I have a lot of Irwin tools and find they stick to there word on there advertisements.
Very cheap for a drill set like this.

It wasn't until I lost my number 7 bit from this set I realised just how much I use them. Instantly bought another set. They are perfect for around the house drilling walls, wood, plaster. I only carry these to do all my drilling, except perhaps some blade drills for big wooded holes. I don't know if they are any good at a professional level but at a DIY level - Perfect

These drill bits will probably drill more holes in more types of material than any other brand. More holes per battery charge to boot and best of all without deploying the hammer action of your drill.
I have personally used them drilling timber and brick in combination, one after the other, where drilling the wood, marking the wall and then drilling it is not viable. They seem to be equally effective on both materials and so are ideal for fixing studs/battens with hardened hex headed fixings which screw directly into the bricks.
Even pre-cast concrete lintels succumb to the combination of these bits and a powerful battery drill without using the hammer action. The speed of progress and the lack of vibration make overhead drilling in this instance much less irksome.
Cutting edge life is also good subject to the usual constraints.
Amazon.co.uk can also supply longer versions of these drills whilst another well known supplier has dropped these products completely.
These drill bits are also supplied under the trade name 'Joran' which has built a loyal band of fans over the years. Some of the items I purchased from Amazon bear the Joran name.

Ordered these bits after I wore out my old one drilling into ceramic tiles. There were delivered quickly and so far have rapidly chewed through everything I have put them in front of. Although I do use dedicated wood bits for timber I can confirm they drill well into wooden joists without overheating. Excellent quality and a good price.

I'm not as happy with these bits as I thought I would be.

I have a few cordless drills and the performance of these has never been amazing. But potentially I was expecting them to be mind blowing from reading some reviews. They are certainly hard wearing, but the holes it drills are always quite messy - I've found this on any material I've drilling with them.

I thought it would be handy to be able to drill 12mm holes with a 10mm chuck - but the things I have been drilling always turn out better if I just use a uni bit.

Alright set of bits, but I don't see me using mine much more. But maybe my expectations were set high and I wanted a set of bits that would do anything - but I will stick to using all my single purpose bits. They are well made and hard wearing thought, just not for me.

I'm forever drilling through ceramic tiles and these do it with ease. They will give you more holes than any others, and even when tiles are finally starting to take the edge off of them, you still get plenty more holes in brick and block.

Bought to go with my cordless drill so wasn't carrying too many different drill bits around with it. When I first saw them they looked like masonry tips so was a bit dubious but I have just used them on softwood and MDF and they worked a treat. Good selection of sizes in a reasonably robust case.

I used them on my holiday home.

It got through the hard tiles ok.

The tip of one of them burned completely drilling on iron bar which was behind the tile.

It says Multi Purpose, however avoid iron or hard metals!
