Robyn Hitchcock has made a terrible album (Groovy Decay), some good albums & a few brilliant ones. This is in the brilliant group. Here he's live before a small audience, mostly alone with a guitar but at times with guitar &/or violin backing. This is an album to listen to right through at one go - the songs simply get stronger & stronger as the show rolls on, leaving little option at the end but to hit the Repeat button on the stereo. The monologues between the songs are as Hitchcock as ever - head on down to the end of Weird & then hang a left - witty, insightful & just unsettling enough...
A great performance. Investigate soonest.
