5.0 out of 5 stars Frightening but pertinent and timeous warning, 19 Oct 2008
By
In this frightening but pertinent and timeous warning this courageous woman of truth and vision, Brigitte Gabriel, warns the USA and the world of the danger faced by Islamo-Fascism, and how ignoring or appeasing this threat will result in the ruthless and bloody islamification of the USA and other Western societies unless we face this cancer and act now.

Gabriel points out how "Today, radical Islam's war rages with varying degrees of intensity throughout the world, not only against Christians and Jews in the West but also against Hindus, Buddhists, Copts, indeed all non-Muslim infidels. The radical Islamists decree of zealotry even has them attacking other denominations within Islam itself. Islamic radicals are instigating and perpetuating terrorist campaigns, insurgencies, civil wars, minority suppression and ethnic cleansing and/or genocide in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chad, Chechnya, Dagestan, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Great Britain, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kashmir, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Macedonia, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, the Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, territories administered by the Palestinian authority, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, Spain, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, the United States of America, Yemen and Zanzibar".

Brigitte Gabriel, lived as a ten year old girl through the terror as of Muslims from across the world flooded into Lebanon to wage a bloody and ruthless jihad against Lebanese Christians in which over 60 000 Lebanese Christian men, women and children were butchered. A horrific exercise in ethnic cleansing that was ignored by the world and by those who's self-proclaimed task was to stand up for human rights.

Gabriel recounts her idyllic childhood in a peaceful and cosmopolitan land before the PLO and Lebanese Muslims launched a war against Lebanon's Christian population.
They were joined by Muslim terrorists pouring into Lebanon from as far afield as Somalia, Syria, Iran, Jordan, Iraq, Libya and Egypt. Lebanon was turned overnight into a killing field.
Christian leftists who fought alongside the Palestinians for greater Islamic control over Lebanon, were so-blinded by their ideologically motivated self-righteousness that they did not see that they too as much targets as the general Christian population.
In Lebanon every person carried an identity document that identified their religion and what sect of religion they belonged to. Cars were stopped at PLO or Muslim, and if the Palestinians or Muslims realized that the occupants the cars were sprayed with bullets and the entire families inside, killed, with shouts of "Allahu Akbar".

Gabriel remembers her years as a frightened and starving child in a bomb shelter as missiles rained on her village from a nearby Muslim town.

Gabriel outlines the history of the 1982 Lebanon War from the perspective a victim of Palestinian/ Islamic ethnic cleansing and explains how Israel's eventual intervention (in response to murderous attacks by the PLO from Lebanon into Israel), was welcomed by the Christian Lebanese desperate to be rescued from the hideous genocide the Palestinians and Muslims, with the support of Syria, were inflicting on them.
Gabriel explains how Israel provided health care to all Lebanese, Christian and Muslims, and even Palestinians. They were treated free of charge in Israeli hospitals.
After Gabriel's mother was critically injured in a PLO shelling attack, she was transported to an Israeli hospital, where Gabriel recounts her amazement at the great kindness and love shown her by Israelis, who the Islamo-Leftist media had been so demonized in the eyes of Lebanese population by the Arab media and Islamo-Leftist PR propaganda machine.

Gabriel discovered how the Palestinian propaganda could not have been further from the truth, and that she had been told a fabricated lie by her government and culture about the Israel that was the opposite of reality
Israeli Jews were the only people in the world who realized what the Christian Lebanese were going through.

The Israelis were able to bring peace to the area and drive out the terrorists. Lebanon had been turned into a base of terror, but as always Israel was condemned for defending itself and the victims (both the Israelis and Christian Lebanese) were painted by the world media as the criminals.
The skirmish at the Sabra and Shatilla PLO camps in October 1982, in which several hundred Muslim terrorists from around the world, were killed (and a few civilian casualties) in a retaliation action by Christian Lebanese fighters provoked a hysterical world reaction. But the massacred of Christian Lebanese villagers, and the mass murder of Lebanese infants, children and women by the PLO and Muslim Lebanese for the seven years before that had elicited no reaction round the world whatsoever, as their continued atrocities would be ignored in the years to come.
She explains how the media fabricated lies and played a role as part of the PLO's propaganda machine in Lebanon and the The Land of Israel.

The second part of the book describes the presence of massive Islamic networks in the USA, how Arabic petro-dollars and nihilistic left wing ideologues use the media, civil society and universities in the USA to prepare the Islamic assault on the world's freedoms and demonize Israel and the West.
At universities across the USA students are being brainwashed in an anti-Western and Israel-hating diet that is shaping a hate-filled new generation. At university campuses murder of children is condoned and openly seen as justified by Muslim and hard left students.
Those who oppose the Islamo-Leftist nihilistic agenda are prevented from speaking at universities.

She clearly illustrates how Islamic radicals have made their goals of seizing power and imposing radical Islam clear to all. You can't read this book and not be ware of the threat the free world faces.
We are faced with a threat to the world as great as that faced by the Nazis in 1938, with the potential of death and destruction on a far greater scale than that of the Holocaust.
Gabriel explains how the USA and the West is being strangled by it's own political correctness.
As she so correctly points out : "There is no time for any more delusions. There is too much at stake. America needs to wake up from a gullible state of ignorant bliss, and start learning Islamic history. We must expose the truth and must get involved in ensuring that our elected officials have our support to throw political correctness in the garbage. We must clearly state that we are sick and tired of the lies and deception that we want to know the truth about the enemy we are fighting, and what we can do to win this war. Only then will we have a chance of winning this battle. Once our elected officials know that they can count on our support and not be demonized for stating the facts, they will be more courageous about coming out in the open and declaring war on our enemy."

Not a comfortable read, but one that will open your eyes to what is behind the news. A lot of the violence and hate is ingrained in the cultures and the social pressure, that goes with it. This true story is like a sojourn and a survival of coming out from under the blanket of deception in her part of the Middle East, including her own Christian culture. This book will help you see a truer picture of what motivates Islam and the emptiness of that path and the danger that it is to the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sad Jealous Muslims., 23 Oct 2014
Not surprisingly muslims will dredge up their normal nonsense about the crusades to Damn Christians.

That was 900 years ago. People thought the world was flat 900 years ago and yet these poor victimised muslims are still using events of nearly a thousand years ago to justify their violence.

ARABS and Muslims will always fight as they are tribal people and have not progressed culturally for the last 300 years.

What have the Arabs EVER given the world to enrich it? To take forward humanity?

The Greeks gave us democracy, the ROMANS numerous engineering and building innovations and feats.

The French glorious food.

The Germans, mechanical efficiency and organisation.

The ENGLISH the industrial revolution

The Americans huge technological advancement.

But what, other than fighting have the ARABS ever contributed to the world over the last 1000 years?????!!

Nothing, and I believe it is a deep down resentment that the supposed pratitioners of the "only true religion" have not been blessed with any great feats, and remained in general backward people that drives their jealousy of the west.

They are led by developments of culture in Europe rather than make any innovation or creative change themselves.

They just copy!!! Never invent or innovate.

Brigitte Gabriel has the guts to ignore political correctness.

ISLAM "the religion of peace"

It would be laughable if it wasn't so ridiculous.

A religion that refuses to accept any others faith and yet violently demands respect for its religion.

Shame on the disgraceful hypocrites!!!

This lady is a Lebanese version of Ali Ayaan Hirsi. A brave woman indeed. Read of her life in Lebannon and how as a youth she was taught that Israel was the enemy and athreat to her and her family. Then the P.L.O moved in and Lebannon which was a little bit of Europe and democracy in the region was turned into a barbaric war zone. read how she ended up in Israel and saw that what she had been taught as a youth was all lies. A fascinating read and testimony of her life. How far she has come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lessons We Must Learn, 28 Mar 2007
By
Amazon Customer (Melbourne Australia) - See all my reviews
Lebanon used to be a bright spot in a very dark Middle East. It was a rare democracy with a Christian majority. Muslims and non-Muslims could live together in peace and calm, even at the political level. It was a beacon of hope and freedom to the surrounding Arab nations. The Lebanese had the highest standard of living in the area. In many ways it seemed more like a Western nation, and Beirut was known as the Paris of the Middle East.

But all that changed in 1975 when radical Muslims from surrounding nations declared jihad on the Lebanese Christians, and poured into Southern Lebanon to set up a Muslim state. Radical Muslims who hated democracy and wanted to impose Sharia law turned the Lebanese oasis into a hell hole.

Among those who lived through the terror was one young Maronite Christian girl, Brigitte Gabriel. She was ten years old when the rape of Lebanon began. For the next seven years she and her family would spend most of their time living in an underground bomb shelter, enduring the onslaught of Islamist anger and fury.

She witnessed firsthand the murder, rape, hatred and genocide of a once-great land. She experienced the terror, ethnic cleansing, and dictatorship of Muslim radicals. And she also saw how these Islamists masterfully controlled and manipulated the media, to make it look like they were the good guys, and the Christians and Jews were the source of evil in the region.

This book tells her story in chilling and moving detail. But the book is much more than a personal story. It is also a warning. It is a warning to America and the West that the very thing that happened to Lebanon is now happening to all Western democracies. Radical Muslims have declared a holy war against the West, and made clear their intention of destroying it.

Radical Muslims made their intentions known about Lebanon, and they did what they said they would do. They are now telling us their intentions about the West. And they are working to carry out those intentions. Gabriel asks, will we learn from the experience in Lebanon? Or will the West close its eyes and pretend the threat of radical Islam does not exist?

The recent incursion of Israel into Lebanon must be seen from the backdrop of the story told in this book. The hatred and venom that Muslims have for Jews is carefully discussed here. The desire of 150 million surrounding Muslims to drive 5 million Jews into the sea is a daily reality for the Israelis.

And as Gabriel shows, the same media manipulation and deception is taking place now, as it did three decades ago. A favourite tactic of the Palestinians then, like Hezbollah now, is to set up rocket attacks from Christian villages. After the rockets are fired, the Islamists quickly pull out, knowing full well Israeli reprisals will then fall on innocent Christian habitations. And the media of course will be there to record the Jewish "barbarism," while ignoring the initial terrorists attacks.

The horrible tactics and the frightening aims of the Islamists are here carefully laid out. So too are the lies and the deception Islamists are quite happy to resort to. There are even Arabic terms for these: taqiyya and kithman.

Radical Muslims are willing to present themselves as victims and oppressed peoples. And apologists for the Islamists, and those who loathe their own Western heritage, readily find reasons to blame the West for Islamic terrorism. Somehow the West is to blame for acts of Islamist outrage.

Yet as Gabriel reminds us, it is foolish to suggest that we must somehow address their grievances. "Their grievance is our freedom of religion. Their grievance is our democratic process." These radicals have repeatedly made their goals known: they seek to destroy Western democracies and set up an Islamic state. Says Gabriel, "Unless we take them at their word, and defend ourselves accordingly, they will succeed."

And she reminds us that there is a sacred obligation to impose Islam on the entire world. This is not a distortion of Islam, nor the ideas just of extremists, but the very heart of mainstream Islam. "It is mandated by the holy writings of Islam, as interpreted by a vast majority of the classical authorities."

Indeed, we must reject the myth of moderate Islam. While there are many moderate Muslims, the religion itself is not moderate. Religious and political freedoms are just not hallmarks of Muslim societies. Indeed, the "only social liberal thinkers in the Muslim-Arab Islamo-fascist world are dead ones".

In this important book Gabriel documents the many Islamist assaults on the West, and asks why we even allow terrorists to live in our own countries, as they prepare to carry our their acts of carnage and destruction. The parallels between what is now happening in the West and what took place in her homeland are too ominous to be ignored. Yet the West seems intent on doing just that.

Gabriel says we must wake up to the fact that a war has been declared against the West. Do we have the will and the resolve to defend our way of life, or will we simply give up without a fight?

She closes her volume with a number of hard-hitting recommendations if the West is to prevail in this conflict. These include much stricter border controls, development of alternative energy sources, and security profiling of high-risk groups.

These and other stringent steps must be taken if we want to win this battle against the Islamic terrorists. Mere conciliation, arbitration and diplomacy will not reduce the threat. The radical Muslims do what they do because they hate. And until we learn that lesson the casualties will continue to mount, and freedoms will continue to be snatched away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic insight into why Islam is a danger to the world., 1 Aug 2014

This review is from: Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America (Kindle Edition)
A very powerful account of how Islam can very quickly take away your comfortable life and peaceful existence. Lebanon, once a vibrant peaceful largely Christian country was smashed to pieces. Peoples passports identified their religion which led to Christians being executed at road blocks. Brigitte describes the horror of being trapped in that environment with her elderly parents. The book also provides useful insight into the current Israeli / Palestinian crisis. Read this book, then pass it onto your friends and family. Being informed of what Islam intends for all of us might just keep us safe.

This review is from: Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America (Kindle Edition)
This is a very important book to read. Brigitte Gabriel writes from her own traumatic experience in Lebanon during the Muslim war against the Christians. Now living in the USA she has made it her mission to speak about the terror threat to the world. If anyone has any doubts about the intentions of intra Muslim wars that inevitably engulf all Western and democratic countries, they should read this book and take notice. No Western democratic country is safe from them. Yet the world is burying its head in the sand.
