When I asked for a new telephone line to be installed, I had no idea that in a few years, that I would be using a modem or a router. Its location was convenient when first installed but too far from the PC for the standard router lead to be of much use. This filled the gap.

It works as well as the original.

However, both my current and previous ISPs were able to detect that I was not using the cable supplied with their routers and that, unless I used the precise equipment supplied by them, I would not benefit from their support services.

It is relatively inexpensive and worth buying if you need a longer length.

Very nice basic cable. Do the work! works perfect for me. Use it to move my ADSL modem away from the telephone socket.

Bought this to move the router further away from the BT Master Socket. Initially I had the ADSL filter at the far end of a telephone extension cable, so plugged filter directly into the master socket, used the telephone extension cable to relocate the phone away from the master socket, and bought this to move the router away from the filter too.

The download speed seems to have dropped slightly which didn't surprise me (down from about 3.8 to 3.6Mbps), although the upload speed seems to have increased (up from about 0.5 to 0.65Mbps).

Length was fine for me - I need to move the router about 2.5 metres, so it was more than long enough, although I haven't actually measured the total length of the cable.

Mine arrived with a different sized RJ11 plugs on each end. One end fits into the wall or modem but the other does't. I can't use it to connect my modem to the broadband, but if it was the one in the pic it would have worked fine. For £1.80 I cant be bothered sending back though...

Not knowing what any of the techniical names of the cables were, I purchased this one based on the picture as this looked like what I needed. Big mistake as this is not the item that is being sold! Oh well I though, didn't cost much so I thought I'd just let the seller know that the picture is a tad misleading in a polite, no fuss email. They didn't even bother to acknowledge this so that tells me all I need to know about this seller!

The package arrived is labelled as "EUROSONIC ADSL/Broadband Modem Lead Kit 5 Meter CAT 5 twisted pair 24 gauge cable terminated with RJ11 plugs, UK socket adaptor and cable clips". This is great as I can just connect the 5m cable one end to the O2 wireless box router that I have, and the other end to the ADSL socket of the broadband filter provided by O2. The adaptor with British telephone plug and RJ11 socket could be used for the 5m cable plug directly onto the BT telephone wall socket but is no use for me though. Now the router can be moved much further away from the telepphone socket from the wall as I always wanted ;-)

Due to having pets (very mischievous kittens) my router cable would often get torn up and I would keep having to buy new ones. However I decided to take the plunge with this and to my surprise, it proved tougher than I thought for the price! Although I didn't intend do, it seemed to have also strengthened the connection with drops in connection occurring less frequently.

For those wondering, although the title includes 'BT Broadband', this cable works for any ISP (I have TalkTalk). I have been using this for over a year now and it's working as great as when I first bought it. Would highly recommend.

I bought this cable so that I could relocate the BT Openreach Infinity modem to the attic. Job done.
I have just received my monthly broadband report from SamKnows and this is showing a decrease in download speed from arround 40Mbps to about 30Mbps since I did this. I have not noticed a significant speed issue and the other reported parameters remain the same (upload speed, packet loss and latency).

I likely be replacing this cable or moving the modem again.

Despite initially encountering problems receiving the item (which I suspect relates to Royal Mail) a replacement was promptly sent by the retailer. I am very happy with the product and extremely impressed by the level of customer service provided and as such I would not hesitate to recommend the retailer.
